1985 but other years will work. Sunburned LCDs are fine, as mine are good. I don't even need the housing, just need the electronics. I am tired of fecking with mine and getting nowhere.
Pull it out, look everything over, plug it back in and it works.....for a bit. Sometimes a day, sometimes for...
Just to update this and take it ttt...
After some research I have found this to fit the '89 to '96 models.
I'm gonna hang with it another week and then it goes to eBay...
...I believe '87 and up? This was with some extra parts that came with an '84 model that I recently bought and sold. The measurements between the front two mounting holes is 32 9/16". I know for sure it does NOT fit the '84 or my '85.
Anyway, it has some minor scratches that could be buffed...
Shut up Shut Up SHUT UP!!:mad:r:mad
You're killing me here!:cry:W:cry
;LOL:gap;LOL
I guess he was pretty ****ed at me for not coming through. From our conversations, he really needed the money. Sounds like it was a heck of a deal.
:lou:w
That sounds a lot like the one I was trying to buy for $2K.
Ohio, around Mansfield/Shelby? White? Front bumper needs replaced? Dash screwed up?
I couldn't get my brother on a flight to get up there and I had to work.
Damn...
Lubricating the cables is a good idea. You should also visually inspect each cables entire length for fraying of the cable jacket, especially where it runs through something, ie. firewall.
As I said before, mine was the cruise cable, where the cable jacket mounts to the diaphram bracket. I have...
I just got through dealing with this on my '85. I can only assume that your year is the same.
There is a rod that runs from the lever down to the actual switch on the side of the steering column. It may be out of adjustment. Pain in the butt to get at, but not near as bad as the ignition...
You will probably get a bunch of people telling you the bore for the shaft is worn and you need a new throttle body.:eyerole
While that may very well be the case, you need to check all other possibilities first before spending that money.
With the MAF pulled, open the throttle plates and with a...
Close enough for me!:D
There are some issues that need to be dealt with(other than the obvious), but it will be a decent driver. It was well worth the money.
Hell, I drove 2700 miles(round trip) to get it! Luckily my brother was visiting relatives out there and could take a look at it first.
I went through this with my 85. The tumblers were stripped in the ignition. $12.50 at O'Reilly Auto, $5 for the plastic "turtle" from GM and I was up and running.
From what I read on the subject while doing my fix, dumb*sses yank the key out of the ignition while the shifter is not in reverse...
All carburetors we remanufacture are set to 4 turns out on the idle mixture screws. This is just a bench setting, to give plenty of fuel on start up. Once the car has reached operating temp, you should screw in the idle setting as low as it will go and still idle. This gets the engine drawing...
I would suggest taking it to a shop. It is pretty involved if you've never been in one before. The float level is going to have to be reset. Anyone knowledgeable in Quadrajets should be in and out of it in 10 minutes.
Are you sure he may just not be familiar with Corvettes? They are a different breed of automobile, and I am finding that sometimes general mechanic principals don't necessarily apply to my Vette. I have also read of Corvette owners refusing to take their car to the dealers they bought them from...
It was probably something that got under the needle. All it takes is just one speck of dirt to keep the needle from completely closing.
The needle and seat functions just like the flapper valve in a toilet. If everything is ok, it will fill with water and shut off when it is supposed to. If...
