    Run flat tires

Well, I took my 08 Z06 to the dealership for an oil change and asked them to remove the right rear tire from the car and dismount it. GM will note allow the dealership to repair run flats even though this was a very small puncture in the tread area, very reparable! I had it repaired elsewhere...

    Run flat tires

I recently purchased 4 new Michelin tires for my 2008 Z06. They have less than 1,000 miles on them and one of the rear tires picked up what looks like a screw in the tread area-it goes flat on a day or two. Chevy dealership says wow, too bad, but you can’t repair a run flat, especially the speed...

    Orange Peel

Orange Peel Paint After reading your paint woes, I find it interesting that they are shutting down production the week of October 20 through October 27 due to undisclosed production problems.......I wonder if this could be one of them. I was scheduled to take the Bowling Green Assembly Plant...

    Do it yourself seat recovering

Recovering C-3 seats I chose to do it myself. With new leather covers, foam and the install kit with all new hooks and hog rings from Al Knoch. Doing it myself I could keep the cost down and being a perfectionist pay attention to detail. I never did this before so I took apart one seat and...

    Setting solid lifters

Solid Lifter Adjustment I have an artiticle from Corvette Enthusiast, November 04 called "Playing Taps" that I use every time I adjust the lsolid ifters on my LT-1. I can e-mail it to you if you want to give me an e-mail address. Tom

    Clogged Brake Line?

Repacing Hardlines PITA is putting it mildly. I couldn't get to the last 2-3 rear bolts that hold the clips/brakeline to the frame. They were between the frame and floorpan and I didn't have a wrench or any tool I could think of to get on the bolt to remove it. I did back one bolt out till...

    Clogged Brake Line?

Brake lines I just tonight let my 71 off the jackstands from replacing the hardlines, rubber lines and calipers all the way around. The only hardline I gave up on and left alone was the longline running from the proportioning valve to the rear. I got some of the line clip bolts out along the...

    C-3 Carpet Replacement

C-3 Carpet Replacemnet I did check with Al Knock and found out the carpet can be ordered with the jute padding already cut and bonded to the carpet, or without. They indicated further that most trim shops order it without and install the old where possible or cut their own out in house. For...

    C-3 Carpet Replacement

I am completing the interior on my 71 LT-1 and purchased new carpet from Al Knoch. The carpet I pulled out has some padding about 3/8" thick glued to it in most areas such as the floor in front of the seats, & most of the storage area behind the seats (it's a convertible). The new carpet did...

    Original parking brake console?

Parking Brake Console Just replaced my 71 parking brake console with a repo. Mine was original, and plastic, and cracked in the middle as most others. The repo looks close but for the grain pattern being slightly different than the original, but try to find a NOS!

    Cabin Insulation Suggestions

Cabin Insulation I recently installed KoolMat in my 71 LT-1 and the difference is incredible. Visit the KoolMat website and it will give you a like to some pics of it being installed on a Vette. It is a lot of work, as you need to use 3-M spray adhesive to put it down.

    71 350 camshaft

71 camshaft specs There is a good article regarding adjusting the valve lash on the LT-1 camshaft ( as you probably realize by now it's a solid lifter cam) in the November 2004 issue of Corvette Enthusiast titled "Playing Taps". It goes into a lot of great detail and can be used to adjust the...

    71 Seat Belt Warning Light

Steve, Thanks for the genuine offer to pull yours appart, that's a ton of work I would avoid at most costs if I didn't have to. I'll do some investigating and let you and anyone else on this thread know what I find out.

    71 Seat Belt Warning Light

Steve, I have most of the manuals including the AIM and electric diagrams and noticed something that looked like a relay coil when I had it appart. Obviously it is not working correctly. I did the same thing as you mentioned, looked at all the major part suppliers and found no parts to replace...

    71 Seat Belt Warning Light

I refurbed my small guage cluster and put in a new red lense and push switch in the process, new bulbs etc. The bulb in there prior was probably burned out so I never had the light come on. With the new bulb and push button it comes on and when you push in the switch it goes off but as soon as...
