    LT4 lt4 and egr

That's connected to your AIR pump and is used to inject air into the exhaust during cold startups to reduce hydrocarbons and speed CAT light off. On the back of the LT4 intake, there is a silver blockoff plate where the EGR valve goes on an LT1 Cheers, Lawrence

    Rear wheel bearings help please

I used to have the same problem eating rear wheel bearings. What has worked for me is retorquing the spindle nut regularly. When I install new bearings I torque them to about 180 ft lbs. After 500 miles, I retorque them again, and before each weekend at the track I retorque them. This had...

    power steering done blowed up

Actually I was wrong, I use a 24 inch extension on that one. Yes, you get it from the top since there is no room around the rack to turn a wrench. The extension gets you up high enough to get a ratchet on it. Cheers, Lawrence

    power steering done blowed up

The rack is a pain but not difficult if you have the right tools. The trickiest part are the hose fittings at the rack. I use a crows foot flare nut wrench (18mm 6 point from MAC tools) and a 4 foot extention to get these off. Other than that, you just use a tie rod puller to pop the tie...

    power steering done blowed up

I have been doing track days with my lt4 for many years. I am now on my 3rd powersteering pump, 2nd rack and about 10th high pressure hose. The pumps and rack were replaced early on under warranty. I had a defective rack from the factory and when I started doing track days, it caused a...

LT4 Have a leak on my LT4. Is it transmission fluid or something else? Help needed quick

Before you replace the water pump, make sure it is not power steering fluid. My LT4 developed a very similar leak while it was under warranty and the dealer replaced the water pump. Unfortunatly for them it was the high pressure fitting on the power steering pump leaking on the serpentine...

    ASR and Wheel Spin

The limited slip rearend is different from the ASR. The function of the limited slip is to transmit more equal power to both wheels. For example if you load up your trans on the brakes at a stop (ASR off of course) and then pop off the brake, you will leave two black strips on the ground as...

    Low Tire Pressure Sensors

It probably won't last. According to the Helms if the receiver/control module does not receive any wheel sensor signals for three consecutive thirty minute periods with the ignition in the on position, DTC 99 will be set and the Service LPTWS lamp will come on. If/When it does, just pull the...

    Low Tire Pressure Sensors

Unfortunately, the sensors are strapped to the rim inside the tires. The only way to transfer them is to dismount the tires, transfer them and mount the tires back again. Several years ago, I pulled the factory rims and replaced them with ZR1's. With no sensors the Check LPTS light did not...

    ZF Six Speed Problem

Hi Hib, Just Curious, you wrote in another thread that you use Redline Light Shockproof in your zf's, why? What are the advantages and disadvantages vs MTL or MT90 The reason I ask is that I recently went to a single mass flywheel and with MTL the trans has A LOT of gear clatter. I am...

    ZF Six Speed Problem

75W90 synthetic is fine for the zf6. Gear oil viscosity is different from motor oil viscosity, 75W90 gear oil is equivalent to 15W40 Motor Oil. As to the original post, the zf6 has a lot of gear whine. If it was not loud enough to concern you the first time you drove the car, it is fine...
