I bought my OEM changer off of ebay... Although I had the connection under the dash on the passenger side, I still had to buy the harness that goes to the back.
btw... That price on ebay looks a little steep. I paid less than $100 for mine.
I bought a factory 12 disc changer from ebay and I haven't had any problems with it. It takes one heck of a jolt to make it skip. The only issue I had was mounting it. I found out the hard way since it didn't come out of a Corvette it wasn't set up to mount vertically (skipped all of the time...
You might want to check your battery cables. One day while driving my seat moved and the AC came on by itself. The next time I tried to start the car it was dead. No power at all. It ended up being the positve battery terminal was loose. I tightened it up and no problems since.
gmjunkie,
I thought about taking the refund but if something were to happen in the next 12 months I could end up spending more. A few years ago I turned down an extended warranty on a car I purchased only to have the transmission go out. It end up costing me twice as much.
Jistari--
I can see...
Once I finally got them to acknowledge that I did not have the warranty that I paid for they said that it was an oversight that the paperwork wasn't turned in.
I wouldn't be so fired up about this if they hadn't tried to force so much BS down my throat. When I first talk to them it was to late...
In April of 2005 I purchased my 2000 Coupe. Along with it I purchased a 36/24 GM Major Guard warranty. I come to find out last week that the dealership never turned in the paperwork. Now they want to activate the warranty from my original date of purchase. So technically I'm paying full price...
When I clean my windows I use regular window cleaner and this this nifty little tool. http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?L1=L1_1000&L2=L2_1001&SKU=90247
It makes it much easier.
When I bought my 2000 it had a Corsa exhaust (not sure which one it is) with out an x pipe. After getting an x pipe the only real change I've noticed is that it smoothed out the sound. It doesn't sound as "raw" as it did especially from inside the car. It still screams when I get on it.
Just when I was feel pretty disgusted with what the internet is turning into this site shines like a beacon through all of the crap that's currently clogging up the internet.
I've had my 2000 coupe for about a year and half and have experienced quite a few of the more common problems... battery...
I had a guy in a C6 behind me in the other lane actually blow his horn twice to get my attention. The first time I heard it but didn't see him. He must have been in that wonderful blind spot. While I was getting on the on-ramp he honk again and waved as he drove by.
I had a little bumper buster about a month ago and I didn't have them put an emblem on the new bumper cover... I really didn't care for it. After about a week I ordered one and put it on. btw... it does have 2 pins. That was one of the scariest things I had ever done... drilling 2 holes in my...
I just had new tires put on my 2000 coupe and the sensors are still working fine. I read somewhere (maybe the manual) that the sensors should last around 10 years.
