NO MORE DEAD BATTERIES
It took about six weeks and numerous visits to my dealer from the GM tech to finally solve the problem: It seems that after shutting the car down instead of drawing 10-20 milliamps it was drawing about ten times that amount so that after a few days I would end up with a...
SCAM!
When reading these long winded solicitations scan the grammar. It's one telltale. Also , if it seems too good to be true it is. Ask some of the clients of Bernard Madoff.

Still Dies
To All FYI:
The battery still drains after a visit from the Vet (Techs?). I can't go 3 days without the battery draining. My dealer has to wait after New Year before getting thru to someone at Chev. who can help. I am starting to consider the NJ lemon law. Total frustration. I feel...
No More Dead Batteries
After many Dead Batteries and total frustration I brought the 06 back to the dealer and told him to keep it until it's fixed or I'll be seeing my lawyer about the "Lemon Law". He had it for about 2 weeks and all seems to be fine for now. The culprit? Evidently the car is...
"Pains" in the rear
vetmaniac:
I'm not trying to be picky, but it's phonetically pronounced "tuches" with the emphasis on the guttural "ch", as if you are trying to cough up a "luggy".
Anytime that I can be helpful. Amazing the time you have once you retire.

Audio Volume
Vettepirate:
I'm not sure of your model year, but in mine the volume automatically adjusts depending upon ambient levels of decibels.

douments
GM has issues 3 different documents on the electrical system, check lists, specifications and tips.
c4c5specialist:
How can I get a copy of these documents?

c4c5specialist:
Thanks for the help. Will take her in in a week or so and see what happens. Except for the exhaust by-pass switch which has been disconnected no aftermarket devices were installed.

Milliamp draw
Now that I remember, he did say 10 milliamps. I am still having trouble with battery drain resulting in inability to crank after a few days of idle. When the dealer checked, she was drawing about 2 amps measured on a DC amp meter.
We then checked the amp draw on a new 08 Z06 in...
Battery
Dealer also told me to keep it in reverse when shutting down. Also if you do any charging, do it at the terminal in the fuse box under the hood. There is a possibility of ignition/explosion from battery fumes if you do it at the battery.
The need for a trickle charge should not be...
Just puled the receipts for the rear end work, The new lube & additive was done on Aug. 21, 2007 @ 8721 miles.
The new rear was done on Jan. 17, 2008 @ 9375 miles.
I guess the timing was lucky for me??? Will find out.

Crash/Accident?
Looks like the result of a demo derby loser.
I don't drive the the car to its full potential because I can't handle it. I've had my head bashed a few times against the upper window area when I felt a little daring. But I normally just cruise and enjoy the feeling of just...
Noisy Rear
daking:
Complain to your dealer and they have to put a new rear in. Chevrolet pays them for it under warrantee. I can't imagine why they wouldn't do it.

What is it with GM batteries? Car is only 25 months old with 9500 miles and today I had to put another battery in. Last time was about a year ago. Went to start the garaged car this A.M. and dead as a doornail. Charged it a few hours and then proceeded to do an amp draw test and came up with...
Active Handling Light
Had the same problem, but car is all stock. Took it back to the dealer and he fixed the wiring harness under warrantee and all has been well for about a month. They may give you some grief if not all stock.

ELECTRICAL DRAW ON BY-PASS
For all that are interested in how the By-Pass works:
1.) From the factory, without doing anything: When ignition is off and the
engine isn't running no current is drawn by the solenoid that operates the
vacuum actuated solenoids that are normally...
Exhaust By-Pass
The topic is not new as I have told others my experience. So here goes:
For about $100 Mid America sells a switch that with the simple press of a button that is on a fob that I leave in the ash tray, allows for the the vacuum switch on the mufflers to either stay at the factory...
About 6 months ago I started to get a grinding noise from the rear end. Took it to the dealer and they drained the lube and put in an additive as directed from GM. Noise went away but it started to come back recently when taking corners.
The dealer's mechanic told me to complain and they helped...
