Any way to bench test the PKE module for a 1996 coupe? Replaced one that I thought was bad with a used one but it does not work either. Do not want to rip everything out again until I know for sure the module is good. Thanks.
Replacing the weatherstripping on my '96 coupe and decided to repaint the stainless steel channels. Has anybody done this? Haven't found much about getting the paint to adhere well. Thanks
Looking to replace seat belts in my '72 coupe with 3 point single retractor shoulder belts. Have not been able to find any recent posts on this. Has anyone done it? Looks like Ecklers, Mid America, etc. have replacement belts.
Just replaced the water pump, distributor, etc. on my '96 LT-4. When I was taking the water pump off, there were two vacuum lines running down the left (drivers) side of the pump. One goes to the distributor and the other goes down below the pump. It came off when I was removing the bolts...
Got tired of fishing a wire in to the OBD II ports every time I wanted to read trouble codes. Found this male connector at carplugs.com for $5. Put the two pins in and now have an easy way to pull the codes. Give it a try!

Is there any way to check a remote key fob? Just bought a '96 LT4 and the remote does not work. The PKE light does not come on so I assume it is turned off. But I think the remote is still supposed to open/close the passenger door and hatch lid. Don't want to spend $150 unless I'm sure this...
Manual seat track in my '96 coupe is shot and was thinking of converting to 6-way power seats. Looks pretty straight forward - replace the racks with a power seat assembly and install the power seat switch in the console. Any thoughts?
Took my '96 coupe in for service. Dealer said the positive battery cable was laying on the exhaust and needed to be rerouted. Estimated cost: $495. Anybody know the secret?
Just bought a '96 coupe with a tilt steering wheel. When you pull on the wheel, it moves down and to the left. Does it in all positions. is this normal?
Swapped my '81 for a 96 coupe last week. Both have issues but am thinking i got the better end. Anyway, I have a shop manual and AIM that needs a new home. They can be yours for the cost of shipping. Anyone still need to read instructions?
I also have a set of parking brakes.
Just bought a 1996 LT 4 with 26k miles. When I test drove it, the clutch would engage right at the floor with not much travel. Then it went completely out. The dealer fixed it and everything was o.k. for the second test drive (he said they reconnected the clutch cable; there isn't one that i...
Power door lock switch on the passenger side of my '81 does not work. The driver's side does (both doors). Replaced the P/S actuator, switch, and pigtails. Still nothing. I'm getting power and the switch ohms out but nothing happens. Since this is a double circuit, it seems to me that either...
The dashboard lights in my '81 are not real bright even when turned up all the way. I've replaced the headlight switch and checked the ground.
I'm replacing the dash and thought I would replace all of the light bulbs while it's out. That's about $50 worth of light bulbs and not sure if it...
After replacing everything rear-end related from the drive shaft back, I'm still getting a clicking noise when I drive. You can hear it best when slowing down. Applying the brakes doesn't make a difference. Sounds like a bad u-joint but they were replaced (twice).
I read somewhere that a...
Am repainting my '81 and am undecided on the color. Original is Charcoal Gray (84) but I also like the Maroon metallic (79). Interior is silver gray (152).
Any thoughts?
Thinking about buying an '03 convertible. Does anyone know if they built metallic red with light oak interior? Everything I see looks like all the red ones came with shale (anniversary option).
