Got a 64? I might have the paperwork.

Do you have a 1964 Convert SN 119772? In going through my Dad's car paperwork, I found a lot of the original paperwork/pictures/Owners Manual for it. PM me if you have this car and would like the information (I will mail it to you) Edit to add: Any other ideas of where to post this?

    Now it's my turn

You mean I was supposed to grow up?!? ;LOL In all seriousness, congrats on getting back on the car! It'll be great fun(and even more fun once it's back on the road). If you can, involve your kids in the rebuild. My father and I did his (now my) '65 and the memories I have from wrenching on...

    Help me understand whitewalls

I have to respectfully disagree with some here. I think blackwalls on knockoffs are better.

Update 63 Project - Road to Top Flight...

Collin, Glad to hear the car is coming along so well! Can't wait to see the pictures. Along with Barry's suggestions for additions to the car post judging, you can't forget to add the fart cans! 8" exhaust pipes, dude (and you might as well rip out that pesky old V-8 and put a 4 cyl. in it...

    C1/C2 Shortage

I'm planning on trying to make it down next year. Right now, my midyear is in Virginia and I'm not. As soon as my fiancee's house sells, we can buy one with a suitable garage here in Michigan. Then I can get the car up here and finish the last few things on my list before taking a long drive!

    Unabashedly showing off....

Mine turned 41 today! However, my fiancee looked at me a little oddly when I proclaimed that today was the birthday of my Corvette.

    A '57 in '62 (Pics)

Some nice looking pictures upthread! Nice looking 60 you have there! Not completely on topic here, but thought I'd share a picture of the '57 my father had. It was originally a fuelie, but the engine was removed. He towed it from NW PA to Norfolk, VA with his '65 and kept it in my mothers...

    Great Customer Service!

I just got my diagram from Don. The diagram is very, very nice and Don was wonderful to deal with, I'd deal with him again in a heartbeat. It'll be so much better having this diagram with me when I go to rewire the old girl.

    KNOCK OFFS

Heh, I'm not sure there's any job on a Corvette that the average high schooler working a summer job should do. I'm not sure I'd even trust them with washing my car. :L At any rate, welcome to the CAC!

$90.00 In Glue And Counting...Almost As Much As The Carpet...!!!

Hey VNV - you still alive? Or are you unable to type due to two cans of 3M adhesive being cemented to your hands? In all seriousness, I hope you got the carpeting put down without many more problems.

$90.00 In Glue And Counting...Almost As Much As The Carpet...!!!

You could just fill the offending areas with body filler. :gap

How much do you drive your C1- C2?

Mine has been driven approximately five times since my father and I got it painted and running again (some mechanical difficulties arose) last September. The problem is that the car is at my parents place (800 miles from me) for now. It'll be a little while longer before I can get the car up...

How much do you drive your C1- C2?

Or just do like my father did. "Oops, I don't know how the speedometer cable came unhooked? You mean that also runs the odometer, too?!? Well, I never knew that."

How much of a problem is this on my flywheel?

But remember, your questions are also helping out a bunch of us other newbies who are a little behind you in work. Barry, your threads and posts have helped me to gain a better understanding of my car (even though some of the work you've done is still a ways down the road for me) and wrench...

    My car is in pieces!

VNV, what part number are those under the car? I need to get me some of those. Adds a real rustic feel to the car. :rotfl

even the simple stuff I can make difficult

The answer is simple for painting the engine block. Put the bed in the garage, the engine in the bedroom and paint it there after it warms up. Of course, do this at your own risk, for you might be sleeping in the garage for a while.

BarryK's tips on how NOT to do things.....part 1

It sounds like we've all got painting stories. Late September was spraying the Corvette. Now, me being the brilliant person I am, I didn't get a paint suit (was wearing old clothes). Nor did I decide to wear a hat when painting. So I've sprayed the car and turn around to spray the hardtop...
