You guys were correct. Installed the mirror with the wellnuts, and it is so tight, I think the door would break before the mirror would come off. Thanks.:thumb
I just went out and checked the distance between tire and trailing arm on my car, ( I have 255/60/15s) and there is about 3/4s to 1inch of clearance. I would suggest you have one mounted on a wheel and then see if it fits.
I dont think any tire company makes a 270. The difference between the 255 and the 275 is about 1 inch in width and 1 inch in height. Being the 275 is wider and taller than the 255.
The width of the 275/60/15 is almost 11inches wide. The 255/60/15 is a little over 10 inches wide.
The tire height on the 275 is almost 1inch taller ( 27.99 vs 27.04) . With the numbers here looks like it would be close.

Has anyone installed the right hand mirror on their car? And if so, did the mounting kit use the rubber wellnuts. I got the kit from Corvette Central
and it came with the rubber wellnuts. Im wondering if those are strong enough to hold the mirror to the door.
Thanks so much. I will give him a call. There is one other question I forgot to ask. Will the original fan clutch have the GM part number stamped or cast into the housing somewhere? Im begining to wonder if this is the original unit. Can not find a part number anyplace on it.
Who does it and is it worth it ? I have the original fan clutch from the car,
and all it does is free-wheels, no drag at the hub. I've heard there were places that rebuild these things, but have not been able to find any shops that do it. Any help would be great
Thanks guys, you have answered questions that no one else could. Im finding out that these cars are a breed of there own, and not everyone can work on them. So i've been doing all the work on it my self. A real learning experience, and a good one at that. Thankyou all for the help.:upthumbs
So what your saying John, is that I'll just have to give them a try. Would you suggest installing insulators between the spring and the lower control arm.
Ijust finished installing new poly bushings in the rear of the car, now on the front. Question, I removed the old coil springs, and the new AC Delco springs are shorter and the spring ends are not cut the same as the old ones. So just to make sure they didnt miss box that set, I got another...
