Thanks guys. Yea Bruce, I never touched the valve or cylinder so I don't think it's them, though I guess the controll valve could have hung up from sitting? Clar2001, I'll give your sugestion a try. Thanks again...Jim
Hi all,,
I'm in the middle of a engine rebuild that was going great till I cranked it over and had no power steering. I took the engine out about two months ago to send out for a rebuild. In the mean time I decided to change all the hoses and rebuild the pump while I had it all apart. when I put...
I agree with Jack. I have a 73 that the same plastic line failed on(while driving) I ordered a new one and was glad I did cause when I changed the line out, I could see the whole length of it was brittle. Good luck....Jim
Hi Matt,
Wow, that looks like quite a project. That is exactly what I was looking for! I actually bought a new dash pad that I have to change and after looking at your picture I guess I would have to tear the gauge cluster out anyway, so maybe I'll just jump in with both feet. Thanks for your...
Hi all,
I'm wondering if any of you can tell me how hard it is to add the clutch pedal under the dash. It looks pretty tight and way up under the dash. I just got my engine back from a rebuild and I had the automatic rebuilt as well as a muncie four speed from another 73 I picked up off of...
I put on a Tru Flex fiberglass bumper on the front of my 73. It matched great and the instalation wasn't that bad either. Thankfully I haven't tested the flex in Tru Flex!

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out the procedure to change the gear selector shaft seal on a TH 400 in a 73? Does the pan have to come down? Is there a special tool? I even checked the 73spot with no luck. By the way, awesome site you have there Tom. Thanks for any advice...
Anyone know an easy way to remove the carpet from the storage doors in the rear area of a 73. I bought a new carpet set and got everthing swapped over except the doors. I really don't want to replace the doors cause they have the original stickers on the unerside. Any ideas...
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply. We have the same color interior. I'm really looking for a picture of where the lap belt comes out from under the floor next to the seat. Thanks again for your help.
Jim
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply. If you could send me a picture of where the seat belt comes out from under the plastic cover by the rocker panel, that would help me alot. I don't see any glue on the plastic piece so I'm guessing that the carpet just lays on that plastic piece by the rocker...
Thanks red 73BB. I kind of thought that was the order. One more question, Does the carpet get trimmed around the dome of the plastic piece or does the carpet just cover it? Thanks again,
Jim
Hi everyone, belated happy fathers day. I took the seats and carpet out of my 73 a few months back and am brain dead as to how the carpet trims around the plastic cover for the seat belts under the seats. Is it seat belt, plastic cover, then carpet or carpet seatbelt then cover? I have an...
pegasys,
I picked up a 73 about three months ago and have been able to pick up quite a few parts on e-bay.I found one guy changing over from a four speed to an automatic. He was selling the tranny and shifter. After e-mailing him and asking if he wanted to sell the peddals, linkages, flywheel...
