Kids are finally gone so we have cut back a little.
2004 Impala Indy SS is my work driver
2006 Jeep TJ is hers
1997 GMC 2500 with over 300,000 for weekend work
1954 Dodge Pickup project
1952 Dodge Pickup even more of a project
Still found time to get almost 10,000 on the vette last year
My project hasn't even started yet as the weather in the middle of Indiana didn't get to "salt" until the last couple of weeks. I kept putting off doing anything that would keep from from rolling out of the garage. Maybe now I can get projects started. But it has been fun.
General Tinkering planned but until the snow actually locks me in nothing that will keep it inside when the outside allows.
Fix remaining oil leaks
install power antenna
Rebuild rear - shafts, check bearings, relube.
Then if money appears, the dream is to swap out the 4spd for a 5 w/ OD. Since...
I should add the first time I cleaned the wheels and tires on baby the lift became a real member of the family. The knees aint as flexible as they used to be...
In my grease filled youth the service stations all had a single post - center of it all lift, we still did exhaust work, removed tranies etc... I can say that the 4 post drive-on lift is by far superior to that with plenty of clearance.
I bought an extra jack tray for mine thinking I would...
I park the vette on it normally up at least to the first locks so yes when parked I keep it on the lift. If my garage allowed for it, I would run it all the way up and leave my daily driver under it without concern. The safety locks on this one are sturdy. Don't tell the better half but I have...
I bought a Pro Park 7000 last year at Indy GoodGuys after looking at several. I was influenced by cost and availability as I was able to pick it up and save delivery. I like it and have had no problems at all except the desire to add a new high bay on to the garage. The install was easy with a...
I just got rid of a similar rattle when my air comp was running at idle when I found the alternator adjusting bolt had sheared. Replacing it removed what I thought was the air cond compressor. Since the alt and air run different belts I am not sure why short of some passed vibration.
This thread is really depressing for those of us in areas with 4 seasons with the 4th one being yuck! In my case last year the poor baby spent a couple of weeks under cover due to snow on the road. Anytime there is ice or snow I leave it parked because the "other idiots" on the road get a lot...
A late to this thread cuz I was out relaxing by driving or working on the baby, all is good in the land without micro-chips... (transistors in the HEI don't count)
I got the bug back sometime in the 60's as when my cousin stopped by in a silver split window. I was a couple of years away from legally driving. Dad took us for a spin and I was hooked. Took me many years to get my first and I still plan on procuring a split window before all is done.
