    Shock Reccomendations C2

shock recommendations C2 I run a #330 rear spring and #460's on the front of my 63 coupe. I have SPAX adjustables on all four corners. Have had them for over four years. Not a lot of miles on them but very satisfied. Took a couple of weeks to tune them to the suspension. Now no "bounce"...

Dual Gate type shifter for '94 LT1 automatic?

Dual Gate Shifter A Dual Gate was set up for a three speed automatic. The Hurst Lightning Rods are for manufactured for both three and four speed autos. They use three separate shifter levers to accomplish this. You can drive on the one stick only if you are not wishing to have to manually...

News: Back from NCRS National - LADY Scores Duntov!

lady scores duntov Congratulations. I have a friend who is attempting the same thing with a 65 396 car. Two top flights in three years but no Duntov yet. Gotta get that PV down first. It seems that depending on the judge the PV qualifications are quite subjective and can change from meet to...

Help! Have a bottoming out sound in my 66....

bottoming out As you just had the body off I must ask it you took notice and measurement of the body mounts and cushions when you pulled the body from the frame and did you make sure you have at least the same spacing or a greater spacing of the body to the frame. Other than that the only...

    Shock reccomendations for 63

spring and shock recommendations I run a 330# VBP spring in my 63 coupe with SPAX adjustable shocks. Car rides well and handles well as far as I am concerned. I don't have the "bounce" so many people complain of. The SPAX shocks are externally adjustable and have 28 adjustment positions...

    63 disc brake conversion

OK; so you can call Van Steel or not. I purchased the 65-67 disc brake conversion kit from them for my 63 and they also sent me the cable conversion kit to use. The connections are different for the disc brakes than the drum brakes so they supply new cables and everything else you need...

New FL member restoring a 64' Roadster, piece by piece.

I like the Ansen Sprint wheels because I had them on my 69 Dart Swinger 340. When clean they look nice. Not everyone likes them. Your car, your choice. You got the car for the right price. As far as my mention of MOST it simply means that you need to clean, clean, clean everything and see...

New FL member restoring a 64' Roadster, piece by piece.

BIG project. Looks like you have the advantage of having everything there; even though you will be replacing most of it. Those look like Ansen Sprint wheels. Nice vintage wheel and if you have all four treat them with Naval Jelly and they will come up looking great. Have seen that trailer...

Question: what if you needed a motor

I gotta agree with rebuilding your original motor. Even if you have a deck surface that is out .003 - .005 as long as you run a good composite gasket you won't have any sealing problems. I don't know why you are against an overbore on the original block. The only way to properly rebuild it is...

    Continuation of Master Cylinder story

John: I ran into the same problem Nick is having with the M/C on my son's 87. Leakage to the rear of the M/C while bench bleeding. Tried it again with a different M/C and didn't push to the bottom and didn't have the failure. I certainly can't dispute your explanation. Thanks Rich:beer

    Continuation of Master Cylinder story

Nick: Bench bleeding is done to displace any air that might be introduced into the brake lines from the M/C. To bleed the M/C you shouldn't need more than about 3/4 of an inch of travel with the piston. As I understand it what happens when you overtravel is that the piston "cup" actually...

    Continuation of Master Cylinder story

When bench bleeding take care not to overtravel the piston. It is not meant to bottom out before you stop motion. Rich:beer
