A side shaft broke where the splines start. I need to find a reliable place to get my differential rebuilt. Prefer somewhere near southeast South Dakota.
Just finished installing trailing arm bushings and new shims. Does anyone know the effect on toe-in of moving 1/8 inch shim from outside the trailing arm to the inside? Real curious to find out how changing to less shims on one side or the other changes the rear toe-in. Going to alignment shop...

Several problems with my differential.
1) 3 of the 4 bolt holes for the strut rod mounting plate are stripped and will not tighten securely. they are 3/8 16 thread bolts. It appear to me to be a fairly beefy pad where the bolts go,(drill out and helicoil back to the 3/8 bolt size) so was...

Needed to remove the upper A-arm to replace the bushings, so made this little tool for under 10 bucks to get the ball joint loose. Used 3-1/2 inches of heavy wall pipe and 5/8 x 3 grade 8 bolt fine thread, nut and washer. Loosen the nut on upper ball joint and put this tool over the lower stud...
Most of the the time the tachometer appears to be accurate, but at times it reads way too high... even at idle it can read high as 1100 and if you touch the gas it jumps way up real fast.. Is the tach going bad or is there a connection problem somewhere?
Put together 2 of these rollers for about $60. all four rollers swivel.. Makes moving the car around the garage very easy.. We now have 5 vehicles in our 3 car garage. I only put them under the rear wheels and can push the car easily any where inthe garage.

My 76 rear view mirror wobbles on the ball thing going into the back of it. I know this was discussed a few years back but I can't find the thread. It spoke of soaking the mirror so the glass would fall out, then you do something to the stud ? Anybody remember this or had to fix it. No money...

This radio and amp was boxed up and in the back of the car when I bought it and had a label on it that said "good". I have not tested it , but cqn't believe they would have saved a junk piece. The plugs for speakers and amp are there as well as some mounting brackets. Rady to plug into your...

I have a factory 76 steering wheel and I am sick of it. Mostly I want to put on a better wheel like a Grant. Problem is that no one makes a wheel to fit the 76. As a result I want to start a project to devise an adaptor of some sort so us 76 owners can enjoy a better looking wheel in our ride. I...

On directv last night Channel 285 DTMS put on a program made in 2004 claiming the Ford GT40 is the most successful American racecar. I think their boasting stems most from the First, Second and third place finish in the 1966 24 hour Lemans. By now hasn't the Corvette surpassed this nasty...
