http://ganeys.home.sprynet.com/STINGRAY.htm Since 63, for 15 years (63-77) Corvette & Sting Ray were synonymous. 78- 25th anniversay of the Corvette- not Stingray. There is some lead time between design & production. Bill Mitchell, head of styling, who did the Stingray bodies retired...

Aftermarket stereo & speakers in C3

More into Performance than car stereo. Some Design Requirements: Clean sound. Move all the air in the car, i.e. feel it. Fast to do. Since the rear speakers need a box & home speakers are already designed in a box, this is a fast solution. The disadvantage is that more power is required...

    Swapping Intake With Edelbrock Performer

Too much restriction. Note the closing in (reductions in dia.) parts also. Something I may not have posted was that on my first Hot Rods, initially ran straight through glasspacks. Power had been increased greatly. During a run it blew the glasspacks off & took off like a blower or...

    Stingray -vs- Shark

Bill Mitchell was into big game fishing. 63-67 coupes have stringray roof design. 65 BB has stingray on hood. 68-77 has the stingray "wings" in the roof design. The story is that the Mako Shark II was supposed to be painted like a fish Bill Mitchell had mounted. After it was painted Bill...

    Luggage rack...yes or no..?

Re: Question about the t-top "thing" Sherry, the max. rec. weight for the luggage rack is about 50 lbs. (+/- 10) :eek Factory for 77. You need the T-Top holder attachment & the rack has "pins" for it. T-Tops will stay on at 100+ cruise. :cool

78-82...A Stingray in the un-informed public eye?

STINGRAY Some Corvette history is helpful to ID a Stingray. In 63, the new smaller body & chassis w/ I.R.S. was called a Sting Ray. When the body was redone in 68 at first called Sting Ray & then used Stingray emblems in 69. Emblems are for identification & some can not identify w/o the emblem...
