It sounds like you do not have access to a factory repair manual. I would suggest if you plan on doing much of your own work, you obtain on on CD. They can be had for very little and free if you download it from the internet.

Mods not only hurt the value of the C4 but make it extremely hard to sell as well. A modded car that still needs work is what we used to call a "basket case" (no insult intended to the OP) and will never bring anywhere near fair market value for the year/model/mileage base car. Look at the cars...
I thought about getting some of those cover pieces as well until I went to a couple shows and saw some cars with them. I'm not saying anything critical, they just aren't to my taste. I elected to go the polish, paint and modestly accesorize route.
Is that with GM parts or aftermarket? The reason I ask is I've read at least 100 posts on the subject and the consensus seems to be the only way to go is with the GM parts.
Just got a couple quotes for replacing the weatherstripping in my 96 CE using GM weatherstrip................ one was $1700 and the other $1500. Sound right?
