i used a Lucas Product when I had my '98 formulated for LS differential. I never added anything more and never had a problem! When my "04 need to be changed I had the dealer do it. I have an excellent " GM World Class tech" that works on my car.
MY first C5 was a coupe with the two top option. I agree that removing the top or replacing it in a hurry could be troublesome. my current C5 is a convertible and while it is not a power top (2004) it is so much easier to lower and raise.
I'm sure that they could go with a smaller displacement V8 and get the horsepower up there. I don't see the need for a V6 just as I don't see the need to change from an pushrod to overhead cam outside of the ability to use VVT. Nothing wrong with an engine that has a lower center of gravity...
I'm not a purist that insists that things stay the same but I will say that I have driven my son's Ferrari and while it's a great car , it doesn't have the " push your eyeballs into the back of your skull" torque that my Corvette has and yes, that goes hand in hand with a lower displacement.Is...
I have had the shifter out of my car and the only thing that runs to the transmission , which as you know is in the rear on the C5 & C6 , is the singular rod that runs from the shifter housing mounted on the torque tube to the trans axle. There are no cables that run to the shifter housing or...
I have a C5 coupe with a 6speed manual also and they do not have a trans. lock.I don't know that they could roll the car away but they will not be able to start it without the "Pass Key"-no fuel or spark!

Toms 01 is correct. Several years ago I installed a B&B Bullet system on my C5 and with the stock H pipe it had quite a gurgle at idle. The X pipe does away with that and it changes the sound. It also does a better job balancing out the cylinder banks and it does improve exhaust flow. It wasn't...
I took the runflats off of my '98Coupe several years ago and I make the drive from CT to Carlisle. As some of the other posts said , I carry a "flat kit" with a compressor and plugs etc. and I have never had a problem. Many times in the past we would head for Carlisle as a group and agree that...
A friend of mine in our club has a "01 vert. He has been running the generals for several tears now and he is happy with them. Many of us , including myself carry a plug kit and compressor becouase most of us hate run flats!
You can , as the proverbial saying goes , kill two birds with one stone here. Get rid of that rediculous H pipe and replace it with an aftermarket X pipe. This will result in better performance , better sound , and new flanges to bolt your axle back system to!
We recently had a GM official speak at one of our Corvette club meetings and although we couldn't pin him down on particulars he did state that the C7 will be a new car. They will offer a split window coupe and and a much needed upgraded interior. In reading between the lines it sounds like we...
