Poly locks, which is best brand?

I was under the impression that Strover nuts would strip the thread on the stud after several times of use. I'd hate to use a fresh set and then wear out the stud and have to eventually replace those.

Been looking at getting some “poly locks” for my noisy rockers, last week was my 3rd go around in having to adjust them, they keep getting lose, is there a brand of “poly locks” fellow members prefer or have used with success? Prices range from $18 to $60 bucks so I thought I’d ask before I...

    Its time to go.......

Thanks, actually a '74 convertable clouds our minds once and a while. That was my wifes first choice when we got our current vette. The guy wanted way too much for it, then she, or we fell in love with our current . HHmm, the fever is there for sure........ A house would be nice though first.

    Its time to go.......

We have been at it for the past 6 month and we have finally decided to sell our Vette, financial priorities have been set and something has to go. I actually feel sad, personally because I feel we are seeking financial gain from a "friend". Gracie, my wife, bought the vette when we started...

I just found out my father-in-law, Luis, bought some spare "parts" off a guy who was building a street rod and was wanting to use a corvette suspension. This guy got frustrated and offered my father in law the "parts" for a set of rims and 50 bucks. I made a trip out there yesterday and it...

HA HA HA HA HA!!! Get the insurance adjusters estimate. $850.00 I said forget it. Austin Corvette Service is running an estimate on it. Showed him the damage. The guy smirked and said it going to take that much for the column repair. He then said the door skin was needing to be...

had my 79 broken into and almost stolen....

advice?? Thanks guys. My wife is pretty bummed about it also. The insurance adjuster looked at it and now the fun begins. They are offering me about $1500 for the damages. By the looks of it, the only sever damage was to the steering column collar, and the passenger side door lock. I...

had my 79 broken into and almost stolen....

F***!!!! I had my vette stolen last night. The idiots apparently could not keep on long enough to drive it away. So they stole it and didn’t get far. Broke off my steering column, steering wheel, passenger side door lock and went though my tool box. As many of you know your car is like a part...

    Leaking 79 "T" Tops

Heidi, Thank you, actually that is my exact problem. I think my windshield was also replaced when I got the car so that may be causing the leak?. I will try the tape suggestion. I never take the tops off so exposure is not a problem. Thanks again!!

    Leaking 79 "T" Tops

Speaking of leaks, I have a leak in my 79 also, on what seems to be the top part of the windshield frame, right underneath the chrome. I have removed the chrome and have sealed up the frame with sealer. Still leaks. Somehow water seeps into the creaveses and runs along the edge and drips into...

What happens when there is too much oil in the transmission?

Been lurking for a while, nothing to really write about, most of my questions are answered just by searching the forum. Ran into a problem though, my transmission (newly rebuilt 350) oddly lost power while loading the vette up on a uhaul trailer, and all of a sudden alot of oil spilled out of...

There is a web page out there on how to make a brake pressure bleeder by Jim Powell http://www.bmw-m.net/TechProc/bleeder.htm (one of many sites) for some reason I think he made it for a newer vette. I had read this some while back and I think it was in a vette forum. Anyhow, everything looks...
