I'd NEVER again put Goodyear Rockflat's on my 08. Buying some Nitto Invo's for mine and putting 305/30/19's on the back too. 8K miles on mine and I have wear on the rears in the middle and run lower psi (26lbs. cold) in back too.
I did this. Mine is an MN6 with long tube headers and 3" mid-pipes all the way back though. I'd guess a good exhaust shop could take care of his step down pipe sizing w/o a hitch.
I'd agree with the "trade off" statement completely. There's always a compromise with performance enhancements. However, the pads I bought for the front are far superior for street driving than the stockers. "IF" one was to track the car on a regular basis then this person probably wouldn't...
The 08's did not. I doubt the 09 will cause GM just puts the cheapest pads they can on the car. I put Akebono's on the front and it's night and day difference. Zippo dust and there's noticeable dust on the back now compared to the front. LOL!!
Makes sense. I can tell you this, the car in stock trim/tune is overwhelmed with TM programming and is a completely different car by lessening it's effects.
With regards to "yaw rate and lateral accelerometer" how does TM work on this? I'd think that would be controlled by the TC system more...
This is correct. One can disable it completely or just make it less sensitive. It is intended to "protect" the drive train but IMHO, inhibits the car from doing what it was intended to do. I'd guess its all about warranty claims for GM.
