1994-1996 Tan Sport Seat Backs and the Console Switch

The seat backs are in typical used condition, no rips or tears though. I have not refurbished this leather, so they are in their used condition. $65 each ONO. The center console switch is in good condition as all buttons are there, but I have not tested it. I bought it as a spare when my...

    Help! Removing Knock Sensors?? UGH!!

That's actually good advice on maybe not doing the knock sensors. I've read some guys suck the water out with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner. I got one of the sensors off no problem. The other one broke off and the stub of the bolt remained in the block. Try that for frustrating. Many methods...

    Replacing C4 steering wheel

I'm impressed by the amount of money Mr. Pelton is asking for a wheel. It seems to be fairly profitable as when he was soliciting requests for older, stock steering wheels (to refurbish I believe), I offered mine for around $40. When he did get back to me, he stated that he was buying the old...

Question: 94 power sport seat switch

Hi, with the help of this particular site, I was able to get my sport seats back into operating condition. I had to redo everything, switch, tracks, lumbar, pump. Everything replaced and I've got doubles. So, that said, I do have an extra sport seat switch. This is the one where there is a...

    Insurance costs

To obtain insurance quotes, go with someone you know or someone that knows someone, a reference in other words. Your parents' insurance agent is a start, this has already been suggested, above. You could also try some of the companies you see advertise on line...Progressive, Geico, etc...

In regard to the first issue or question... :) Let me see if I can answer the original question...the switch is no longer available as you found out. So, you can buy one on Ebay to replace the one you have if you think that this might be an issue. You can also take your switch out but you...

    How Many Hardtops

Lots of people looking for the bracketry. I read many of the posts where someone has stated they'll make them and then it all falls through. I hope it works out. Oh yeah, I have a Pologreen car with a red top as its the only one i could find locally with all the brackets. Now to get it painted.

Help! Power seat !!!!! Not powered !!!!!

Oh absolutely. Pulling the seat cushion is the way to go if you just bought the car or had been working on the plugs. That's definitely what I'd check first as pulling the switch is a definite hassle. If you have to remove it or actually the wiring to the actual switch which includes the...

    seat gear stripped?

Its actually the entire seat track. You unbolt the seat portion from it, 4 bolts and take the entire track or send for the exchange. Its about $200 at zip when I bought mine a couple of months ago and Keen is the best in the business. Check both for pricing though to get the best rate...

    seat gear stripped?

Probably a good diagnosis. Check Keen for a rebuilt unit or Zip, they were a little cheaper but had the Keen rebuilt units. Weird. My seat did the same thing. You'll have to send yours in as a core. I was lucky as Zip is down the road from me.

Help! Power seat !!!!! Not powered !!!!!

I've just gone through this, fixing the entire electrical and lumbar system. I guess, my first question is, why would you suspect the wires underneath if you haven't messed with them. have you changed them or been in there? If so, yeah, you hooked power to the driver's seat only. I did the...

    94 lumbar pump

I have a 95, same pump. Its definitely different from the earlier ones with the diaphragm that some fix with a piece of rubber. I'm having the same problem find a pump. Another issue I can warn you about is the center switch, it goes south. Check that as well. I replaced mine and the pump...

Thank you for taking the time for your reply. In terms of a search, I think we've got one of the most comprehensive write up's on the problems and fixes for these seats. None of the other search results have yielded this detail! I'll be taking my seats out on to the garage floor this weekend...

Help! 1995 Sport Seats, no movement fore or aft, side to side

Well, in this ongoing tutorial for my own knowledge and education, I bought a used seat switch and kind of hooked it up to the hot and grounds and also under the seat. Lo and behold, the seat motor worked. I noted that the switch is not removed from the panel. Underneath, the guts are held on...

Help! 1995 Sport Seats, no movement fore or aft, side to side

Great advice. I think I'm still going to get one of those switches. Not cheap though. On the passenger side I've noticed rust on the floor. I bet the rails are as you describe. Driver's side is going to be the curious one. I'll let you know and thanks for the future help with the...

Help! 1995 Sport Seats, no movement fore or aft, side to side

I'll give it a whirl. Details on jumping that motor. Two longish wires inserted into the motor terminals at the plug the other end into a power source like the battery? I can bring the wiring down with me or is there a better way? Gearwrench, check!

Help! 1995 Sport Seats, no movement fore or aft, side to side

OK, this is becoming clearer. I think then I did tie the main feed switch to the motor plug. Those colors were all the same and it was a male/female union. I then tried the switch (glad to know it isn't bypassed, that makes sense now) and I still wasn't getting any action out of the switch...

Help! 1995 Sport Seats, no movement fore or aft, side to side

OK, I'm with you. I've got a little experience but can follow directions on things electrical. My RX7 is/was a nightmare on things electrical as can be the Miata's. I saw the green and blue harnesses and the red, white and yellow power feed harnesses. In my search for this problem...
