Thanks Hib...
That's really the only thing it could be, but it really compresses the dust boot more than I feel is necessary, but on it goes! Thanks...
I'm replacing the upper ball joints on my 1981 Corvette and the new ones from Moog K6034 have this "housing" sent with. Does anyone know what it's for? No mention at all in the instructions.
Thanks guys, I'm going to take it over to the local glass shop tomorrow and see if they can fix it. Interesting about the glue, but I must admit I don't know what "shick rubber like role" means but I'm sure the glass shop will. :cool
Was out on a nice drive last weekend and got the dreaded nickel size rock :bash in the windshield and now I face the task of having to get the windshield replaced. I haven't called any of my local glass companies yet but does anyone have any advice on what I'm up against replacing it on my '81...
They are fantastic ---- But.....
I have the Mid-Am Chambered System (complete stainless steel version ~~$1,200). I took it to my local exhaust/muffler guy to put on because IT IS NOT IN ANYWAY a do-it-yourself job if you don't have a welder and a bender. They fit about 85% as shipped, they...
Power Door Locks Wiring (1980)
Here is a picture of the power door lock circuit. Although it's for a 1980 it's basically the same as the 1981 other than the two tan wires coming off of the C501 door actuator motor connector that goes to the anti-theft deterrent system.

The 4 core will work and it makes a huge difference. All you need to do is take a sharp knife and make the slot in the 4 radiator support rubber mounts longer. Like the previous poster said you MUST be sure ALL the radiator seals are new and force ALL the air THROUGH the radiator -- not over...
Picture of the 4-Wire ECM Connector
Here's a picture of the ECM connector you should be disconnecting. Notice the wires come from the rear of the distributor.:thumb
The Laminated M1131 t-top in blue tint for the (St. Louis built 81) drivers side is one of the hardest to find simply because of the fact (in my opinion) most of us have broken them! :mad I can't even wager a guess the hours I've invested with finding my replacements. (I've previously broken...
I spoke with LectricLimited at Bloomington Gold just last month about this design flaw issue. They said GM never did a recall because of the extensive amount of work involved with replacing the harness, plus according to GM engineers it would take more than 10 years to be a problem and it got GM...
Bad dash harness
Sounds like you've got the 81 dash harness flaw. See this link: http://www.lectriclimited.com/frequently_asked_questions.htm Look at A10 and A11. You'll probably need to send them the harness.:ohnoes
Door hinge spring needs to be painted before installing
If you want to keep your new spring looking like the original spring be sure to paint it first to match your car. This is actually an inspection point for NCRS points.
