I'm replacing the upper ball joints on my 1981 Corvette and the new ones from Moog K6034 have this "housing" sent with. Does anyone know what it's for? No mention at all in the instructions.

Was out on a nice drive last weekend and got the dreaded nickel size rock :bash in the windshield and now I face the task of having to get the windshield replaced. I haven't called any of my local glass companies yet but does anyone have any advice on what I'm up against replacing it on my '81...
