Im trying to pull codes from the computer and it does all of them but when it gets to module 9 its reads Err on the screen.. I thought there was a serial link problem so I check the line to see if it was open from the ebtcm behind the drivers seat to the DLC and the line was fine.. all my...
First of all thanks to the many members here who helped with this problem (s)
With the help of some friends we eliminated what we could from the possibilities list and narrowed it down to the key-reader in the ignition.
We pulled the steering wheel and related items in the column (fun) and...
update---No-start. VATS Trouble? Check me on this
Just got divorced and moved the 95 to the new place and started working on it today with a friend.
Here's what we've done.
new battery
jumped the solenoid on the starter and it fired up and ran for 3 seconds then it shuts off
can hear fuel...
So John, in the posting I put up about the fault codes, you're saying that a faulty TPS will prevent the starter from being engaged?
Which I guess would relate to the h53 fault code?
Jumped pins 4 & 12 on the pseudo-OBD port and pulled the following codes.
Module 1
c72
h53
h72
module 4
---
module 9

A
ERR
I'm pretty sure the H72 code is there because of the non-factory radio
The C72 ?)
the H53---Isn't that VATS related?
The battery was connected while charging.
I ordered a FSM---$90.00 on ebay. I'm sure it will probably pay for itself very quickly
Going to start checking each fuse, holder and ground when the FSM gets here ..that'll be fun. :)
Update: still no activity by the starter but i can hear the...
I'm finding them on ebay for $85.00-$100.00
I know that any cheap rebuild is no kind of long term solution but in a 1995 C4 that I probably will not have for very much longer...
It is also about half the price for the same starter sourced locally.
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience...
I just picked up the two book set of factory service manuals on Ebay for $90.00 which is about $60.00 less than I've been seeing them costing
There are more, scroll down on the link ebelow for various years.
1995 95 GM Chevrolet Corvette Factory Service Repair Manual Two Volume Set on eBay!
Thank you John...that's a lot of grounds :)
Is the Security light staying on and not flashing indicate a problem.
The Haynes manual is rather vague on all this
Thanks
More possible vats trouble (I assume) on a 1995.
turn the ignition key. dash displays light up, no sound from starter or solenoid. Battery charged.
I have two sets of ignition keys. one set has hardly any wear.
I have done the following:
used electrical contact cleaner to clean both key...
UPDATE: Can substantial amounts of water get in the fuel tank this way?
I am attempting to get my 1995 started after a long time...no joy so far, starter wont do anything.
but...
I was cleaning off the car and lifted the gas filler door and found that the little bay under it was full of water...
I started getting a squeeling sound form under the hood and thought maybe the power steering pump or the ac compressor were going bad. Instead, I found that the short bolt which attaches the alterator to the rear bracket is missing!
Does anybody know the size, length, metric/SAE and thread of...
So last Saturday night my Wifey calls me all panicked because the brake pedal on the Vette suddenly went to the floor and the brake warning light went on. I talked her through the “pump the pedal to determine if she actually lost the brakes” or if it was something less severe. She got pressure...
So I've not owned a car with an auto transmission since 1990. My 1974 MGB has the standard 4-speed and was my daily driver for 10 years.
Well I have a 1995 Corvette coupe with the auto OD tranny (yes, I know, auto in a Vette..just not kosher for many)
But, after reading post on this forum for...
Oh
p.s.
I've sat in seat similar to the ones you're looking at.
They're so-so in the comfort area but they'd probably turn you into a pretzel on a long trip.
If you go with them, let me know how they feel on long drives. I'm interested in these kind for a future non-Vette project.
Thanks
Mont
None taken...and I'll still wave at you too :D:D:D
I've got a roadster (or tourer as it is more appropriately called) Strong bonds in the LBC (Little British Car) people. Same as Vette people, just a different flavor I guess.
And I think you're right that older car owners seem to be more into...
Come on. Most women (I'll guess 75%...yes a non-scientific guess) that you see in a Corvette are usually not their owners.
My wife drives a Corvette quite a bit...but it's mine. (Though she claims it's hers now)
Corvettes aren't usually the flavor of choice for women.
I'm also on an MGB forum...
