    Differential dating on a 64

Either is acceptable. There is no correlation between the engine and differential assembly date. Both were shipped to St Louis and should be dated before vehicle assembly.

    Smog Equipment

All 70's had TCS (Transmission Control Spark) and PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation). Car's sold in CA had ECS ( Evaporative Control System). LT-1's had AIR (Air Injector Reactor) System.

    Rounded bolt head

I used the tools pictured above recently to remove a stripped lig nut. Worked great. We'll worth the price and worth a try.

    Sway Bar Size

I know that all 70 LT-1s should have come with the standard 3/4 inch sway bar. However, the bar on my car that appears to be original is 15/16th. Any possibility or rumors that 70 LT-1s might have gotten larger bars? The springs are standard with HS decal still in place. My car is a Feb...

    New Dumb question

Power steering was not an option on early 70 LT-1s with the CTU engine code but was available with the latter cars with the CTK code.

    Sidepipes legal in CA?

When I lived in San Diego I owned a 71 with headers and 69 factory side exhaust. I had the car for three years and never had a problem.

    LT-1 Alternator Pulley

Most LT-1s with a/c used a stamped steel alternator pulley.

    Yellow 'CB' Evaporative Controls Decal

71 was the first year that all cars came with the ECS. In 70, only CA delivered (NA9) cars had the ECS. It seems logical that the sticker would be discontinued early in 71. Why your car has it is a good question. Anomolies occur. Also, the part number on your decal is different than what is in...

    Yellow 'CB' Evaporative Controls Decal

While vette vues is good, I have found that the NCRS manual is generally a better source. I owned a 71 LT-1, vin 15803, which had the original emissions decal but no evidence of the other decal. Also, I think that the yellow decal was only on 70 LT-1s sold in CA. All other 70 LT-1s did not have...

    LT-1s at Auction

Thanks. For that money, I would expect Top Flight with docs.

    LT-1s at Auction

I read in BoB Kroupa's Sold, Sold, Sold article in the most recent Corvette Enthusiast that two 70 LT-1 verts sold at the Bloomington Gold auction for $57,000 and $51,000. Does anyone know anything about these cars? Thanks

Will a BB radiator cool an a/c LT-1

Keep it Original An LT-1 vert with AC is one of the rarest, most desireable C3s. I'd keep it stock. A new correct reproduction is all you need to avoid overheating.

    1971 LT-1 on eBay

For a nice car that needs nothing mechanically or cosmetically to drive and enjoy, I'm guessing $23 to 25K or so. For a 71 coupe to be in the 30K range or greater I think it needs to be in show condition. That's just a guess.

    Holley Carb $

Dave, thanks for the reply. I'm still looking. I decided $875 was too much for a carb that need restored. If already restored or at least rebuilt then I'd probably spend the money.

    1970 LT-1 Radiator Questions

The correct radiator is a Harrison copper radiator with no expansion tank, unless ZR-1 as noted above. Don't know where the part number is unless someone can tell me where to look on the radiator. Here's some pics of the radiator from my former 71 (same as 70) both before and after engine...

    1975 vette

Not rare, but cool. 75s aren't going to win any hp wars but they are still great cars. My second vette was a 75. Loved the car.

    ID 1971 Vette

I thought the stamp below the vin was the transmission. It is difficult to read but seems to match. My 70 is even less clear and it looks like the rear diff below the vin, but is hard to tell. These stamps are just another clue that may point towards the original engine.
