I recently bought a 70 LT-1 missing the holley carb. I've found a correctly dated carb that is complete but needs rebuilt. Asking price is $875. Seems high to me or is that what I should expect to pay?

In the most recent copy of Corvette Enthusiast is an interesting article on the Pure Stock Drag races. The fastest Corvette was a 70 LT-1 which did the 1/4 mile in 12.62 at 112.12. Pretty good for all stock including the tires. That was faster than an LS6, a 69 L71, 65 L76, and a 66 L79.

Corvette Black Book lists CTU, CTK, and CTR as LT-1 engine codes. According to NCRS no CTR codes were produced. Also, the change over from CTU to CTK was complete by about VIN 9000. Looking through the LT-1 Registry a saw several cars listed with CTR codes and at least one late production car...
