Hi, is it possible to remove the section (from drivers side t-junction to passenger side rear caliper) of brake line in one piece? I think the section of pipe is original factory fitted, twist's & turn's a plenty and looks a nightmare to get out:ugh! I want to get the line out intact to make...
Hi folks, I have seen a replacement brake booster in ecklers for $179.99. The blurb says that it fits my 89 c4 but the picture of the booster shows 2 bolts/ studs to bolt it onto the bulkhead. I'm sure it should have 4 bulkhead bolts tho' :ugh?? has anyone bought one of these from ecklers or...
Thanks for the advice guys :) I was hoping the booster was ok as when the pedal is pressed the fluid level in the 2 top up reservoirs rises slightly:confused indicating something is happening inside the booster.
Today my 89's brakes went weird, had to really jam down the pedal to get brakes to bite:ugh. No problems the day before with stopping power decreasing/ fading. All pads, fluids and discs in very good order and no leaks or air locks:confused. Any advice would be very appriecated, many thanks :).
Growing up, members of my family had various MG midgets, Triumph spitfire and stags tho my favorite was an xjs Jag. Cars, I was told all having a distinct character of their own. From what I can remember, more time was spent tinkering with them rather than driving them but imagine that was what...
Hi, any idea's on how to fix a driver's side rear brake dragging? Could it be something to do with the parking brake as my m.o.t. garage told me the parking brake was working on the driver's side rear wheel much better that the other side? Also when the parking brake is applied it sometimes...
I cannot go for road test because mot has expired so I'll drive up and down the carpark outside for 15 mins. My neighbours will wonder if I've lost my mind lol.
I have got the car off the ramps and topped up the oil and thankfully the car now goes into gear:):):)! Strange thing is tho, the reverse seems really weedy and needs a bit more rpm to to move car? I have put in the right amount of oil but the car has only been idling for a few minutes, would...
Hi there, I only put 1.5-2.0 litres in just to get the car off the ramp onto level ground to get a proper dipstick reading to top it up. Nothing showing on dipstick.
Hi, I have just drained the old transmission oil, cleaned the pan and magnet. After bolting the pan back on and putting some new trans oil in I tried to reverse off the wheel ramps but the car won't go into gear:ugh! I bolted the cable guide bracket with the 2 bolts back on but am not sure if...
Hi folks, can anyone tell me how to get the trans oil filler tube/trans dipstick tube off the trans box :W(auto 89c4)so I can get a wrench on a oil cooler pipe nut? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance fellas.:)
Hi, after some great advice from Boomdriver I have decided to make up a oil cooler hose as the original part is very hard to buy in the uk. Looking on the net I could'nt find any 5/16 ID hydraulic pipe apart from buying 10/25 metres min order, any idea's if I can use high pressure gasoline...
Hi, Boomdriver could you please tell me the size of the hose adaptor that screws into the radiator oil cooler i think it might be 3/8??
Like when you fitted your cooler I want to use a length of hydraulic hose and barbed connectors, the problem is, I had to cut steel pipe(see pics)because when...
Thanks for the info guys, now I know what kind of pressure we're talking about here I will rest the car up till I can do a proper fix and not a temp one just for the weekend. I'm really glad I got on here to get a more know-how opinion than to blow up the transmission:ugh, I'll still be going...
Hi, can someone tell me if the auto transmission cooler system on a stock 89 c4 is pressurised? Big car show on tomorrow:W:W:W and need to know if I need pipe to the radiator made up with hydraulic fittings like the original. Any advice appreciated guys, thanks.
