    Won't run/start when warm

Ohm tests are misleading when you consider that the injector can ohm out well but have clogged filters, nozzles, etc. It just says that the coil is in good shape and since there is more to an injector than the coil..... I take mine out for testing and cleaning every 3 years. The "before"...

    Starting help

2 questions. 1. Does the solenoid get the signal to engage? 2. Is the positive cable to the starter in good shape. 3. Are you sure Autozone is correct? There is a cable and a wire to the starter. When you crank, it should send a signal to the solenoid to engage and spin. I think you...

    E-Brake Cable Replacement

On my 91, the cable from the handle came off where it connects with the other 2. If I want to fix this, I think I am going to replace all 3 cables. At the very least, the other 2 rear ones since it came off from the front one which has the nub on it. So, recommendations for which set I should...

1991 Corvette Won't Hold Fuel Pressure

What hose did you use? There is a fuel rated hose that you should be using and not simply any old hose that fits. Get a kit from Racetronix that has the right screws, gasket, hose, etc.

    Question: 1987 Fuel Gauge

Correct. I wouldn't replace unless absolutely necessary. It is the fuel dampner above the pump that leaks and should be replaced with fuel rated hose.

    Question: 1987 Fuel Gauge

Racetronix - C469 1986-89 Fuel Pump Installation Kit You won't need the wiring but the rest is nice to have. Gasket and new SS bolts. Also you can dump the dampner while you are there.

Shock Absorbers for my '90 C4

Wasn't sure what you were trying to do. If you plan to race it, you are going to need different shocks. Some C4s have the FX3 suspension. In which case, you have to remove it and run a "conventional" shock. My point was that the Bilsteins you dismissed have a good warranty so before I get KYB...

    Question: 1987 Fuel Gauge

First thing I'd do is to check fuel pressure. Why? If the pump is weak, you might as well replace it while you are there. After which, I'd take the pump out and see whether the level changes when you move the arm or not. It could be stuck there in the "full" position. If the pump is weak, get...

Shock Absorbers for my '90 C4

What has your racing got to do with the shocks you are asking about? Unless you are commissioning a set of shocks from Bilstein or asking them to valve it differently, what exactly do you have? Standard or FX3 shocks? I bought AFTERMARKET and not AC Delco Bilsteins for the warranty. I had a...

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

It MIGHT if the hose between the MAF and the TB is leaking and thus giving false values. Just a theory. I have seen my dyno results give me 20HP more with the removal of the filter as opposed to running the cold air intake for the Firebird but that was with several twists from the filter o the...

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

I have seen it happen many time where someone says what they need with nobody knowing what they have or have done. Then the next question somebody asks is "What mods do you have? Fill out your sig so we know what we are working with." I also see it as a GUIDE to how to achieve something which...

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

Some forums I am on, you can't get help without tacking your sig line in it so they know what you are working with. In fact, it has been requested "fill up your sig so we know what you are working with". People often come and say "I have a 2001 Ford Excursion and I am having trouble with X, Y or...

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

Wife put me on a diet so I don't get corn flakes or breakfast. I'm sure there is a nice way to tell you "go to hell" and look forward to the trip. Wife's ex boss really knew how to do that but alas, I never learned that. Had I mastered that skill, I'd be running for office. Called it as I saw...

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

BTW, friend of mine did install a 58mm TB on his stock vette. Up to X HP the ad said. He even felt it went faster. Took it to the track and made several runs with it and with the stock unit. Strange thing. Dr Feelgood and his larger TB didn't do as well as the stock unit. Not to be acerbic but...

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

Metaphorical wallet then. Should always write your mods in the signature line so that people know what you are working with. Still, those airfoils are about as good as Extenze or Enzyte. Talks a good game. Stimulates the economy but does little for the money.

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

Let me be the first to thank you for stimulating the economy with worthless purchases. It should run faster with a lighter wallet you carry. With the SOTP dyno, the more you spend, the faster it goes and the better it feels. Unless you have an air leak or are taking it down the track, I am not...

Miss and surge once warmed up

Sounds to me like it hits trouble or at least the trouble is exposed during closed loop. Never bothered to ohm the injectors. Worthless as far as I am concerned. I send them out every few years for testing and cleaning. No, I don't waste time with "cleaner in a can" or snake oils, voodoo or...

    performance

Chipped how? Have you taken off the exhaust and replaced it with headers? Muffler is great but doesn't do squat if the obstruction is upstream. Ricers have been doing that for years and all they get is a farting sound with no real power. It is impressive to the numbnuts that don't know better...
