bstie,
I've got the same rattle when I go over bumps at slow speeds. You may have already read this thread, but in case you hadn't I started a thread about the rattle a few months ago and got some interesting replies. Maybe one of these will help...
I noticed a couple of days ago that there were bumps on my convertible top. There was one on each side up at the front (I'd say about 5 inches from the front of the top and about a 1/2 inch to the outside of the seem that runs the length of the top.) Well I stuck my finger under there and...
Thanks for the input everyone.
If I hadn't spent the entire weekend trying (key word - trying...after two whole days I'm still only a little more than 2/3rds done) to put together the play yard for the kids I might have just gone to get the car from the dealer and tried the rebuild (if the...
The master cylinder for my clutch that is.
My clutch has been getting lower and lower to the floor and the gears have been getting "sticky", especially when she's cold.
I took the LT4 to the dealership (I know, I know...bend over and grab my ankles) and they tell me I need a new master...
Only you can decide, but I would ask yourself this question. If you only had a week to live, would you...
A. Leave the car untouched so that the next owner has a nice low mileage car.
B. Drive the wheels off her and enjoy her while you can.
Personally, I have no desire to leave my wife a...
44 Mag, Thanks for the reply. I'll have to see if that works.
Tonylong, I have to admit that I've never heard the rattle at highway speeds (or above), but I don't think the neighbors would like it much if I were doing triple digits through the neighborhood. ;)
Thanks for the input guys.
Rabbit what manual are you referring to?
44 Mag, when you say release handles, do you me the handles that lock into the top of the windshield when the top is closed? Hmmm. I'll have to check that, although I've tried putting a towel between the pin on the handle...
OK guys and gals,
I need some input from some fellow convertible owners. Since I bought my car about two years ago, whenever I have the top down (which is pretty much all the time unless its raining) and I go over a bump the top rattles. The sound is coming from the folded top behind the...
Thanks for the input guys.
The wheels are the stock wheels. I checked the RPOs, I have 8.5s on the front and 9.5s on the back. Interestingly enough though I thought the tires had been rotated front to back. Is that possible, would they even fit back there? Could my 8.5s be on the back or...
It's time to lay out some cash for some new rubber for the car. I know that OEM on my 96 is 255/45-17 on the front and 285/40-17 on the back. When I purchased the car is had 275/40-17 all the way around.
I know the benefit of having all four the same size is that I can move them front to back...
Oil
I typically use Mobil One. Although the other day I called the shop next door to my office and they said they use AC Delco oil? I made sure they meant the oil and not the filters and he said they use AC Delco synthetic oil and the AC filter.
Anyone ever heard of AC Delco synthetic oil...
Thanks for the input everyone.
Ken, I must be using the wrong term (bezel) or they are in a different location on our year cars. My seat back releases are on the upper back part of my seats. Nobody going to be sitting on them way up there (although it would look pretty funny.)
