I have a 1981 E4ME carb, just replaced the 02 sensor and the TPS (had a check engine light) My question is do I need to adjust the TPS since it was replaced? If so what are the exact voltages I should set it to and how is this done. Thanks guys for any help here. Randall

I have a stock 81 with the E4ME Rochester Quadrajet carb. I have a bad throttle position sensor and the parts in to change it. How difficult would this be to do it myself? My mechanic is just too busy right now to get it done at his shop. I have the new TPS, top plate gasket and a new O2 sensor...

The only thing difficult is removing and replacing the stock heat shields, a real pain to say the least.

I recently replaced my plug wires, I did remove the starter for better access to the shielding. After doing some research I learned some valuable information: 1) Remove the boots off of the ends of the wires on the distributor side to make routing them a breeze, just get a small screwdriver...

I found a silver one like my car, the original box also with Corvette 1981 Silver on it.

Shortly after posting this I checked the code, it was the coolant temperature sensor, got a new one from NAPA, problem solved. :thumb
