Question: 1993: Running wire From Engine to Compartment behind pass. seat

High beam switch FIX I had the same problem, but I had an extra steering column to play with! The high beam switch has oval holes which allow you to loosen and move the switch a little. I did that and solved the problem.I hope these pictures are useful.

Back in the saddle Very nice! It's hard to imagine a vette with so few miles on it! You'd think one of the owners would have put some serious miles on it in 28 years! you're very lucky! Welcome back into the world of Vettes!

    1993 40th Anniversary Corvette

Polo Green 40th Anniversary Vert Until I replaced my ratty looking tan top, I had your twin!! I replaced the old top with a black one. Either way, it's a great looking Corvette. (Looks better with the top down, though!) But on the topic of 40th anniversary, I don't understand how some 93s...

Help! New Vette owner-Optispark a deal breaker??

Optispark I replaced the Opti in my 93 vert by myself. Now that it's done the car performs great! I bought one from Chandler. You can pay somebody or use the great information available on the forums to do it yourself. Once it's done you're good for 5 years or more. I wouldnt let that kind...

    Question: 96 Sun Visor Installation

Sun visor reinstall I did that project a year ago. If my memory serves me, I used a small socket and extension like a nut-driver to press the nut down on the spring and onto the threaded stud. it wasn't terribly difficult. As a side note, I used the padded vinyl black sunvisors off of a...

    Ecklers Vats By-pass

Vats bypass The PO installed one in my vert. It works great. There are times when the car doesn't recognize the correct resistance in the chip in the key. Then you can bypass the chip and you're golden. Go for it! :beer

    Installing c5 or c6 wheels on c4

Running a 93 with Grand Sport wheels I have 11" Grand Sport wheels on the back of my 93 vert. I'm running 315-35-17 Kumho 700s on them. No issues. It sure would be nice to have a set of skinnier 9.5" wheels to put on in the winter time!! Those wide tires are slippery in the wet!! Sorry I...

Defect to Russia, but Never, Never, Never Replace the Water Pump (84)!

Welcome Komrade Take comfort in the fact that when they went to the LT1, they made sure the waterpump job was still a PITA. I had to take it off to get to my distributor - no fun. At least, when I was done, it was kind to me and didnt leak! :L I saw your other post about your daughter giving...

    Help! Timing chain or optispark

Optispark blues Glad you got your problem solved! I had similar problems- car ran, but poorly. I knew how much trouble the Opti was to replace, so I replaced all the other possible culprits first- Coil, ICM, plugs and wires. No dice. Finally I ordered a Opti from Chandler in Wisconsin. It...

Help! Bottom End Knocking, only @ idle, only after car warms up.

I thought they didn't make dual mass flywheels anymore. I have a '93 six speed vert that I need to replace the transmission on, and I assumed I'd need a singlemass flywheel. (I'll be replacing a black tag with a Blue tag zf, but that's a different story!) After watching the video (ZF video)...

    Drivability Problem, bring brain inside...

backfiring- :bang I'm just lurking, my 93 makes a slapping noise on acceleration, and while it sounds like a 'physical' noise, I'm thinking it could be something like what's going on here- backfire or knock. I'm gonna start looking at my vacuum hoses this weekend. Carry on! :eyerole

96 AC Light Flashing code 02 Temp Blend Door Malfunction

Thanks, once more! I thought the door would be hard to turn just using the shaft that sticks down into the motor. I was suspicious that my motor had broken due to the shaft being too hard to turn as a result of rust in the vicinity of the shaft from a clogged AC drain. My AC doesn't work...

96 AC Light Flashing code 02 Temp Blend Door Malfunction

Blen-Dor Thanks! I'll need all the help I can get. I took off the trim panel before and took pictures to get an idea of where the blend door was, but couldn't see anything. So I'll take the whole passenger seat out and plan to spend some quality time down there with a 5.5 mm socket wrench...
