    '66 bumpers & bonding strips

Tom, thank you. Are the bonding strips on the rear fenders similar to the ones on the front?

    '66 bumpers & bonding strips

Thanks very much. I never thought about the heat riser but, I am old enough to remember them. I have started in this game late in life with much to learn. Seems that if you can't do all the maintenance work yourself, and I can't, this endeavor could look like an endless money pit. But, then...

    '66 bumpers & bonding strips

I love the C2's and have been looking at a couple that are for sale. However, the thought of buying a 50 year old car kind of scares me off. I realize that just about everything on them can be repaired - for a price - and that is the problem. So, I have a few questions for which help would be...

Millennium Yellow Owners Sign in Here!

At first, I hated yellow vettes. Thought they were too loud. A couple of friends convinced me about the color and I also was very much influenced by the racing Corvettes. Now I love Yellow, especially with very black tires and shiny aluminum or chrome wheels. So, I bought a '77 coupe. Did...

CORVETTE RACING AT WATKINS GLEN: One Word…FINALLY!

Watkins Glen is a nice track and the scenery is outstanding. Weather is supposed to be good. Hope there are a lot of fan Corvettes there. That said, I am really missing Lime Rock. They should have just limited the number of cars at Lime Rock and kept a race there. There will be 55 cars at...

CORVETTE RACING AT LE MANS: Second and Fourth in Qualifying for Corvette C7.Rs

My blood is starting to race. I love seeing those yellow cars, most particularly when they are beating anything from Europe. I'd be great to get a first - we're overdue. The car should have JAKE more prominently featured in the livery. 6 shooter, thanks for posting the pix of the cars at...

Now, just what would you do with one of those beasts? I hope they come with mandatory driving lessons or some folks will be at risk.

Fox Sports 1 to carry all of the LeMans race.

Yesterday I was watching the United Sports Car race from Detroit. The announcers announced that Fox Sports 1 would be televising the entire LeMans race. I was surprised at the when they said it because I couldn't find it in their schedule. Great news.

    24 hours of Lemans TV

Good news. I'm watching the race in Detroit right now on Fox Sports 1. The announcers just said that the complete 24 Hours of LeMans race will be carried by Fox Sports 1. They must know what they are talking about. Glad to hear it.

    24 hours of Lemans TV

In case the fox sports.com isn't working for someone or their coverage is bad there is another possibility to view the race. It is being carried by 24 Hours of Lemans TV. They are also posting some videos about the race, rules, drivers, safety, etc. Here is the link. At the top of the page...

CORVETTE RACING AT LE MANS: First Steps Toward Eighth Class Victory

Thanks for the information. Watching over the internet is better than nothing. Corvette Racing should have a note about this on their website along with a link to the site.

CORVETTE RACING AT LE MANS: First Steps Toward Eighth Class Victory

Poor TV coverage of LeMans and thr Tudor United Sports Car Series I've searched around and can't find a way to watch on TV the MOST important race of the year for Corvette. It looks like there will be a web broadcast by the LeMans/ACO organization but, I think, it will be in French. Has...

Fehan be be Awarded "Spirit of Le Mans"

Doug Fehan is a perfect fit for Corvette Racing. The man has class. He has the spirit, knowledge and motivation that are necessary for the position. If you ever get the chance to attend a session at which he speaks, don't miss it. Interesting, informative and humorous to boot.

    Sebring Video Availability

Last year you could watch a replay of the races on ESPN3 and/or through the ALMS site. Can it be done this year? I can't find a site that offers it.

    Oil - 10W30 v. 15W40

Thanks, Hib. I have read your posts about oil and was hoping you would reply. I'll try to find a retailer who will order some.

    Oil - 10W30 v. 15W40

I have been looking for Shell Rotella T or Chevron Delo 400 LE in 10W30. All I can find is 15W40. Is 10W30 still made and would there be a problem using the 15W40 of either make in a '77 with about 43K miles? The car is driven April thru October.

Spare Tire Carrier - proper attachment.

mkapp, thanks again. Your picture is correct. After looking at the assembly manual diagram (for some time), the order is the same as in you pix. The drawing of the hole in the v bracket is not that clear in the disc version of the assembly manual which led to my confusion. I should add that...

Spare Tire Carrier - proper attachment.

mkapp, that helps, thanks. The order in your picture (bolt, v bracket, nut, lock washer, weld nut) would seem correct to me. The assembly manual that I have on a disc from Corvette America shows a different order. It shows the order as bolt, nut, v bracket, lock washer and weld nut. Having a...

Spare Tire Carrier - proper attachment.

I'm restoring my spare tire carrier and have a question about proper installation. I've looked at assembly diagrams in a few catalogs and they are not the same. One diagram shows a nut between the bolt and v bracket but, I don't think that is correct. My best guess, from the bottom up would...
