As the title asks, how do you remove the plastic caps on the exterior of the glass hatch?
On my 95 they turned gray and seem to be on very tightly. Do they just pry off or rotate off?
Silly little project.......
I recently drove a 95 LT1 coupe, auto trans with 67500 miles. The car has a harsh vibration just before it shifts at WOT from first to second. It does rev out to slightly below the indicated red line before shifting. The vibration seems to feel like its coming from the front of the car.
The...
Just started having this issue - only after I go for an aggressive ride - revving the engine over 4500 or so through the gears, the clutch pedal doesnt return right away. This happens on the highway or just getting on it and running it up through the first few gears.
The clutch / pedal goes...
Oil change time was today. Even though I only put about 1500 miles on my Vette in the last year, (It was real busy summer for me, not much cruzin) I figured once a year is prudent.
So I went to pick up some Mobil One and noticed Pep Boy and R&S Strauss getting over $7 a quart!!! No case...
I was driving a friends C5, he has the manual Climate controls, I think its so much better than the electronic system in my 99, i wonder if i can convert to the manual controls.
Any info on this? Anyone out there also dislike the electronic controls?
Most of us know by now that just installing a low temperature thermostat by itself will do little to reduce engine-operating temperatures once warmed up and in traffic.
The key is to have a lower temp. Thermostat AND be able to control the cooling fans.
So for about $10 in parts and 1.5...
I am sure I am not the only one who likes to make videos of my quarter miles passes and auto-cross runs, or even street "driving" (All at legal speeds of course) I wanted something to mount my camcorder in my Corvette that is less expensive, less time consuming and more easily removable than a...

How Ironic!
I am posting this in the event that the driver didnt actually own the car, and it belongs to some one here, or some one you may know-
Driving home from work yesterday at 3:45PM, in my Bonneville on the Jersey Turnpike south bound, Western spur, stop and go traffic for miles. I...
What do you think is the most controversial Corvette topic?
Since I bought my first Corvette 4 years ago I came across a few topics that get lots of folks really emotional. Such as –
The great thermostat debate- 160, 180 or stock?
How often to change the oil? Every 3000, 4000 miles etc. or...
Its almost 3 months exactly since I traded in my 95 Corvette for the 99.
The 99 had 20406 miles on it July 31st, it now has 23833. I put on 3427 trouble free miles in 11 weeks. (easy going trips to church and back)
After 141 gallons of the good stuff, for a total of $319.00, I averaged 24.3...
I went to the track last Saturday, only had one run and I messed it up at that, I bogged it coming off the line, 2.65 60 foot time.
But I ran through the traps at 106.9 MPH, I figure with a decent launch I should be looking at a low 13 second pass - ???
Also, I slid the clutch in from about...
C4 vs C5
Just put 1700 miles on my new to me C5 in the last 30 days. Traded my 95 A4 coupe for a 99 6 speed coupe. I bought the 95 with about 13,000 miles on it back in January of 01, 29,030 when I traded it in. The 99 had 20,000 miles when I bought it on 7-31-04.
Over all the C5 is a better...
On my 1999 6 speed coupe, I some times get a loud chirping or squealing sound coming from the drivetrain when the car is in gear and under any load. This goes away after some time of driving. Its not the drive belts on the engine as it goes away if i take the car out of gear and race the motor...
Saw this really coool C6, Black with a (Firethorn) interior and charcoal colored rims.
