For Sale: This is an almost un-used piece I had in my 1980, which I have since sold. I put the stock unit back in for Bloomington and NCRS judging, then sold the car.
It is a "Custom Autosound" brand, model CVLV-601, which fits 77-82 Vettes in stock dash without cutting the dash up.
Unit started...

Hello,
Just considering using a motor flush treatment on an older higher mileage motor that lack maintenance from previous owners and has a fair amount of sludge type build-up.
This motor burns very little, if any, oil, and runs very strong.
I've changed the oil twice in a very short...
I have a small problem with the power steering on a 96 LT1.
When warm, the steering is normal EXCEPT when you stop and drop down to idle speed or come to a stop sign or whatever. Then the steering effort increases dramaticaly, you notice it very much when parking.
I've tried replacing the...
Can you remove the A.I.R. set-up on a 96 LT1 without screwing up anything else?
Just cap the ports on the exhaust manifold ( or install headers) and remove the plumbing, cap / seal, the port at the back of the intake manifold, and leave the pump in place, just cut of or remove the rubber hose...

I was wondering if the transmission fluid flush service that many transmission shops offer for around $100.00 is worth it over the usaual "fluid and filter change" they charge $40.00 for or you do it yourshelf in your garage.
Seems like you leave a lot of fluid in the convertor and other parts...
Has anybody tried removing 20+ year old dealer applied, sprayed -on undercoat from a Corvette?
I've heard about using "brake fluid" soaking and scrubbing method. And also someone suggested a "Steam Cleaner" or a hot-water pressure washer to do this.
