But you are comparing 11 year old tires to new rubber. Apples and oranges. If you could go back in time to when the Firestones were new you might compare the performance differently. Almost every new set of tires I buy have improved performance over the old ones, even when I go with less...
Fluctuating idle solved. After weeks of troubleshooting with my GM manual, with some luck thrown in, I discovered an intermittent "open" wire in the circuit connecting the ECM with the coil. The break in the wire was buried deep inside the wire bundle carrying signals between the ECM, ignition...
For such low mileage that center console looks rather beat up compared to my 1995 loaded. Can't imagine who caused that kind of abuse in such a short time, unless kids spent a lot of time in there doing what kids do. Also, that shift stalk looks way too tall and the shifter end just does not...
You may have a bad battery ground, or even the positive battery post may not be making a good connection to start, even though you are registering 14+ volts. Try removing each battery post, roughing up the post surfaces. Then reattach the positive and neg. posts and see what she does. Been...
Those pulleys will not move because they are indirectly tied to the crankshaft pulley. If that moves then they all move. No way you can turn them by hand.
Actually I live in Ohio and the video is not mine. I just commented on all the quirks of the C4. Mine is Competition Yellow. Can you believe, 2 yellow Vettes, C4 Coupe and C6 Vert. Shortly will get 2017 C7 Grand Sport, Admiral Blue with black top and white racing stripe. Son's car. Gonna have to...
I found pic by just googling 1995 C4 Corvette Air Filter Housing Photos and looked until I found mine. As far as air pressure differential between "ram" air while moving and low pressure air being sucked into the engine while not moving, well there is no contest. The suction air will achieve a...
Okay Barry, I think I see what you are referring too in the attached photo. It is the cover that is spot welded to the air cleaner box cover right? This is what mine looked like right in the new car showroom. Why would you want to remove this? It is insignificant as far as restricting air flow...
Barry, I've owned my '95 since new and I do all of my own work. I've never let anyone in my engine compartment. I'm going to peruse my shop manual to see if I can find out what you are referring to. I've entered my C4 in hundreds of car shows over the years so I am very attuned to all years of...
The engine in my '95 LT1 is bone stock and the only device I have covering the top of the air filter is a stamped, louvered cover held on by three plastic-knobbed bolts. Nothing else there. Do you have photo? Also, what do you mean by "...have no grill so road debris can't damage the filter..."...
Followup: RPI cancelled my order, all on their own. They did issue a very quick refund to PayPal. I re-ordered from Corvetteguys.com and received them within 4 days!
Looks like the bends in your OEM clips are stress bends (notice the lightened area at the bend), that is to say, the clips were originally straight but bent over time due to their "locking" action. If they were mine I'd just send them back. That's my take anyway.
Check to see if tires are original. If they are figure in a new set ASAP. Also very low mileage Vettes are prone to oil leaks due to seal inactivity. Same with water pump. Check out if you can. Somewhat expensive to fix. Also, if you can, see if you can get someone to check out the door and...
