Speedometer works fine now and I didn't need that sensor hooked up any more. I did however just have to remove the speedometer console to dye my dash from oyster to black and in doing so broke my speedometer needle. :mad I bought a new one on Corvette America and I have to say it would be nice...

I adjusted the fast idle speed screw on the carb and it seemed to do the trick. Is there any reason why doing that would be bad?

Maybe my last post wasn't clear. I meant to say when the car is not in motion the engine dies. I have to be giving the car gas or it craps out. Does adjusting the idle solenoid have to do with that? Not even sure where that is.

I just replaced my Rochester M4MC carb on my 1979 L48 corvette and it runs fine but when I stop the car the engine cuts out. I know there is a screw somewhere I need to adjust but I'm not sure where or by how much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. Speedometer works again and just ordered a new circuit board for the tach. Hopefully that will fix that issue.

Bought the long cable to bypass the cruise control that doesn't work and I never used anyway and now the speedometer works again and no check engine light...yet. I only drove it about 4 minutes and never went above 30 mph.

Thanks Art. I may need to find out where that wire hooks up. There could be a chance that I pulled it out when I removed the cable. I'll buy a long cable in the mean time to bypass the cruise. -Thanks!

Thanks Mike. I guess I can try that first. The tach is still doing it's random numbers thing and does that have anything to do with the speedometer cable? I wasn't sure if it got any info from that or not.
