Per The Black Book the seats were all leather or cloth with leather trim. The leather was standard no longer a option. Sorry did more checking and it appears the seats were leather with vinyl trim.
The switch is located on the lower outside area of the steering column. It will have a acuator rod on it that you will see going up thru the column to the dimmer pull stalk. Switch can be bought at most corvette vendors.
if I were you I would try to find someone that knows about C3 corvettes. Try the local corvette club or maybe some help from a person on this forum that is local. It's really a shot in the dark without actually looking at the car and driving it.
My 04 has that leak repaired twice both times at the dealer. Be sure to check that your transaxle breather is not plugged. The plugged breather will build up pressure and cause the oil leak. I believe GM offers a improved breather tube.
