Same happened to me. Was in denial and went after every electrical connection I could find that had any connection to the window. Finally replaced window motor. No need to buy entire regulator apparatus. Problem solved. Go to USAUTOPARTS.com My motor was $46.15 and so is yours, I just checked...
Yes I can. And you really don't have to stand on brake that hard to cause seat to move. Incendently, the drivers seat has the same amount of forward play when siting still.
The seat does't flop all the way to the dash, seat lock and release mechanism prevent that, however, it does fall forward enough to obscure vision through the passenger window. Is this the "little bit" you refer to? The lever at the top of the seat must be pulled to allow the seat to move all...
The entire seat does't rock forward, just the seat back. Of course the driver's seat doesn't fall forward because I'm sitting in it. Step on the brake with just a little firmness and the passenger seat flops forward then back.
Too Hot
I went to Wal Mart, bought the darkest window film they had, doubled it over on the smoked glass targa top. Made a huge difference. Not exactly show car aesthetics but it worked.
While we're on the subject of heat, can you offer any suggestions how to stop hot air from coming through...
Agreed, Cheverolet and Corvette have weaved their way into the very fabric of American culture. Remember "Route 66" and "See the USA in your Cheverolet"? To those who would say nostalgia and emotion have no place in the board room, just this once, close your wallet and sit down. This piece of...
Thanks to everyone for your input. Got that metal gear installed last Saturday, been one week now, everything working as it should. Wish my back yard was big enough to throw you all a BBQ.
Thanks again....DK:)
Well, I was going to sit around all day and think about this problem(sitting around gathering your thoughts is an excellect excuse for sitting around)but your suspicions regarding foreign matter in the gear case got me going. EUREKA!!! You were right, found some shrapnel floating around in...
Can't imagine what else it might be. This gear makes the same offending sound as the old one(at least the old one stopped when it was supposed to, maybe I should put it back in). I guess I'll just wait to install the metal gear.
DK
Thanks for the links, hadn't thought about those bumpers. Went out and fiddled with it this morning but no luck. What I neglected to mention is that the new gear I installed was plastic just like the old one. Figured it's brand new, only $12, had to work at least once, right? WRONG! Bottom line...
Does anyone know how to stop the headlight motor from running after the headlight closes. I replaced the worn gear in the motor, did I miss some other adjustment procedure?
Thanks DK
Hot and cold and more
Thanks for your help. Scrolled through who knows how many posts and threads, finally stumbled on one that said remove fuse #27 under the passenger floor board, disconnect battery, wait 3 minutes, then plug everything back in. Surprise the A/C works just like it should. Now...
Thanks everyone for the welcome. So my first problem is this new 97 vette blows cold air on the passenger but hot air from the center vent and the driver, read the owner's manual and am wondering if I missed something. Any suggestions. Thanks- Dave
Well, hello everyone I'm a newbie and hope you all will offer a little help. Just bought a '97 Vette. The last time I tinkered with Corvettes all they had under the hood was a carbuerator, alternator, starter, and engine. I guess you're beginning to get the picture, times..... they have changed...
