    C7 Updates

It does not HAVE to be lighter to be faster. Better chassis control will go a long way to reducing lap times, and I don't remember this much concern, if any, being voiced about how fast a new car is around the track until the C7 came along. I think there is a lot of engineering talent at GM...

    C7 Updates

Both my 86 Z51 Coupe and my 01 Z06 have 91/2 inch wide front wheels. The primary design goal of the C5 was to carry two people and their golf bags to the golf course. This was a publicized goal. My 86 had no problem beating the C5's in organized competition until the Z06 arrived on the scene...

    C7 Updates

Yes, CAFE standards are averaged over the entire fleet, now, but the EPA seems to have the ability to change rules on a whim, and I bet there aren't that many gearheads in leadership positions working there. But a collapsed dollar would be worse for products that are not essentials.

    News: C7 full of holes

True, but if you just had the hatch open, I imagine rain would already have got in.

Still don't like the drive train!!! no throttle cable!! Too much electornics!!!

I will say that my C4 could spank the C5's until the Z06 came along, and it has only 230 hp. So, I wouldn't say that the C5 was an instant success in the performance department. I am talking autocross, not drag racing or on a track.

    News: C7 full of holes

I'm sure that won't be the last surprising thing we hear about the C7. Wonder why they just didn't have that feature that VW uses where the windows automatically go down enough to relieve the pressure, then go back up again?

    C7 Updates

What makes me think the Vette will be gone (along with all other high-powered, large personal vehicles) has to do with acronyms: EPA, CAFE, and most recently, GAO. I'm sure you know that the EPA has been pushing for much higher CAFE standards, which is hardly friendly to powerful cars. And...

    C7 Updates

Someday there won't be a Lotus or a Vette. It was a pretty good time to be alive, but I think the pinacle is just about here.

    C7 Updates

I'm glad you are coming around to my way of thinking. But it is less likely to happen if the squeaky wheels are whining about how the Nav unit is obsolete, or the headliner is gauche. If you go to a Lotus website, a bet the only discussion about entertainment systems is about how to remove...

    C7 Updates

I understand your point, but the fastest cars around a track have 13 inch wheels, not 20. Yes the brakes can be bigger, but wheels are driving the entire design. Width, not height, is going to enhance performance, and the new car has narrower wheels than the C5 or C6, at least on the front. I...

    C7 Updates

You know one thing I don't remember seeing on any of these Corvette web sites? "What I'm willing to give up to keep the curb weight low." I've seen a LOT of postings about how GM had better do this or do that. The finest leather is mandatory. It can't be too noisy or I won't be able to...

News: First 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray Sells For $1.1 Million

I think Hendricks might be one of those 1%ers that we've been hearing about.

News: First 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray Sells For $1.1 Million

While I was watching, he dropped around 2.5 million on 3 cars. I couldn't take it anymore and had to change the channel.

How Can Chevrolet Make The 2014 Corvette Appeal To Young Buyers?

I thought the Cobvalt was out of production, but I liked the car anyway, especially the SS.

C7 rear leaked on Automobile Magazine cover

I have a feeling that a lot of people will gladly trade trade in their nice round tail lights after watching those ugly, Camaro-esque tail lights disappearing into the distance in front of them. I have a C4 with round lights and I remember the lights becoming squared off in later years and...

How Can Chevrolet Make The 2014 Corvette Appeal To Young Buyers?

The Vette is not the equal of Ferrari or Porsche? Are you forgetting those magazine comparison tests that recently were conducted at race tracks, putting the Vette either on top or a close second in lap times? This had to have been humiliating to high-end manufacturers who live off their...

C7 rear leaked on Automobile Magazine cover

A brand new car and the rear end is leaking already? I would recommend cardboard or newspaper rather than a magazine to catch the drips.

    That's a nice looking garage.

2014 C7 Corvette from Car and Driver

To me, the biggest thing about this car is technical: all-carbon fiber body is major and they also say that the frame will be aluminum. It makes me wonder how they will do any further lightening in the future. Poly-carbonate windows is a possibility, and I personally am hoping for ditching...
