Just installed an Edelbrock #2101 intake on my 76 C3. With the stock Q jet and air cleaner I had sufficient hood clearance. About a 1/2 in on the front edge. :thumb
Just had to vent. Who ever thought it would be a good idea to put a side post battery in a battery box behind a seat? Ever try to jump start or just disconnect a battery terminal? WTH.:mad
I know there have been several discussions on the issue of hot foot wells of a C3. Does installing shut off valves to the heater hoses under the hood really help this issue. I have installed insulation everywhere and even wrapped the exhaust in that area, still have toasted feet.
Anyone ever put a Jet Performance Quadrajet carb on a small block C-3? I would like to stick with a Quadrajet so that I can use the stock spread bore manifold. My stock carb is just worn out and I thought the Q- jet would be more cost effective than going with a Holley and changing the manifold...
In my 76 the oil pressure gauge reads high almost pegged at 80. I checked with a direct press.gauge and it is 40-50. I replaced sending unit and gauge and still have problem. I checked continuity in the wire from the sending unit to gauge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I changed out the original oil press gauge because it was reading very erratic all the time. The new one now stays pegged at the high range and doesn't even move after removing the wire from the oil sending unit. Anyone have an idea?
Anyone ever have a headlight come open on there C3 while driving with the lights off? During a small burst of acceleration I noticed the left head light come up
I solved the problem of one headlight way slower than the other to rise by replacing a relay valve. Is it normal for one to go down before the other to go down when they are turned off?

Does anyone know if you can use the rubber weather strip from a 72 C3 for the rear window of a 76? I understand that 73-77 they used some type of sealant instead of a weather strip type gasket. I just thought it might be easier to install with a seal.
Anyone know where I can get a reproduction data plate that goes in the upper forward corner of the drivers side door jamb? Mine got misplaced during repaint several years ago.
Just a quick warning on some C3 vettes, The radiator drain plug can really get seized. After using suitable penetrant and much colorful language I was able to get the plug out. Unfortunately the threaded ring that is brazed into the radiator that holds the plug must have gotten a bit tweaked...
I have a weird problem, the speedo will work fine one day up to fifty and below and other times it will only go to 40 and stay there. When it works it is pretty accurate . Any ideas?
