I have a 2015 C-7, non Z06, non Z51. Should the oil be changed at 500 miles? Will GM pay for that 500 mile oil change on a non Z06, non Z51 car? Thanls! Tom
Pull Down For Hatch, C-7
Thanks! For Fathers' Day my daughter and son-in law gave me that book....and a Corvette t-shirt. I read it cover to cover. Very interesting! Thanks again. Tom
I believe the 2015 C-7 Coupe does not have a hatch pull down. I also believe the 2016 does. I think I read an article that the 2015, and maybe the 2014, have a different technology to relieve cabin air pressure when closing the hatch. That makes it easier to close the hatch. Can't remember...
Corvette Discounts
Apparently GMS is an employee discount. Is "supplier, Friends & Family" discounts still around? Does the $750 USAA discount work on Corvettes? Any other discounts available? Unfortunately, I am not an employee. Thanks! Tom
I was watching Jay Lenos Garage, Pebble Beach. Jay puts the key FOB into the steering column, maybe the dash, then pushes the push button on the dash to start the car. Is this something new. On a C-6 it was only necessary that the FOB was nearby, proximity. If this is a change for the C-7...
1953 Open/Closed Driveshaft
Thanks John! A follow up if I may. I understand that the 1955 Corvettes with a 6 cyl. were really unsold, left-over 1954's that got new VIN plates. True? Also, it would then seem, on the driveshaft issue, that GM had to change the design of both the trans. and...
I'm pretty sure a 1953 Chevy passenger car had a closed driveshaft or torque tube. I believe a 1953 Corvette had an open driveshaft.
I believe the engines and rears on both passenger car and Corvette were pretty similar. Why didn't Chevy use the torque tube on the Corvette? Were the open...
From outside the car, how do you open the door, drivers or passanger, on a 1953 Corvette? I have seen photos where it appears there is no handle/button on the outside of the door and other photos where it appears there is a small round button. Also, can the doors on a '53 be locked. If so...
Talking with a fellow Corvette friend. He ask me why the antenna on the '97 is in the windshield? On the '98 convertible it is a power antenna and on the '99 Fixed Roof Coupe it is a fixed mast antenna. Why the difference? I don't know. Any help? Thanks! Tom
We live just outside of Phila. I guess our weather is not a lot different than yours. We have been hammered with snow and cold. Spoke to the dealer on Fri., he expects a mid to late March delivery. I'm anxious already! Tom
