Wire Connector EGR Temp
There is a plug at the end of a wire near the base of the distributor. It is way down. I had to get long forceps to reach and hold it to connect it.
The turn signal has a flasher located under the dash on the passenger side. You have to remove the panel on the bottom and hang upside down to get to it.
The courtesy lights has a circuit board that can fail.
You may have a grounding problem for the others.
Even with no check engine light, I would check for codes. You can find a how to do this on one of the threads.
87 octane fuel should not cause this. Bad gas or plugged fuel filter could contribute. What happens under full acceleration?
Won't Idle
I had a similar problem. I could get it to run once it was started by opening the throttle some. Originally it showed codes when tested then latter no codes.
Mine turned out to be a bad ECM. It is fairly easy to change and reasonable ($110 at Rockauto).
I suggest you check codes...
Leak
I can't see it the picture (nice engine) but I believe it would be attached to the small connection above the main inlet to the water pump.
The leak does not occur while running hot. I have allowed to reach operating temperature while idling on ramps and it dries up. I used dye and UV...
Photo
Sorry about the picture quality. It is very hard to just see. Taking a picture is almost impossible.
I think I will have to move the AC compressor to be able to see what is there.
Thanks for the input.
I am experiencing a coolant drip on my 86 C4 L98 when I stop the engine. I can't get to the leak without a lot of work. I was wondering what it does. It appears to have a vent on the left side.
Water Leak
There is a dye you can buy at Autozone. You can put it in your radiator and run the car until the thermostat is open. Autozone will lend you a black light that shows up the dye real well in a darken garage. You can follow the trail to the leak if it is in a visible area of the engine.
Finger Test
Maybe I can explain it in a different way not involving thermodynamics. Using your finger test see what period of time goes by before you feel the heat. Next repeat the same experiment except swish you finger in the hot water and measure the time. I recommend that you do not use...
Cooling
First, I believe you should run a thermostat. The concept of the water running too fast thru the radiator to cool is a myth. But-Too high a flow can cause other REAL problems. If the flow rate is too high, the suction of the pump will drop in pressure. This can cause cavitation...
