    Greenish/Brown Sludge...

Thanks for the reply... what damage could have been done? The car runs fine and the running temps seem normal.

    Any Experience with Kumho tires?

A lot of C4 guys use them. Great tire/very cheap. I don't think they make a runflat model though and I'm not sure if they have the correct sizes for the C5.

spotty lamination of rear window on coupe

Tinting... I think the rear hatch has a layer of tinting on the inside which tends to separate from the antenna and heating elements. My '98 is doing the same thing. It seems to be coming apart from the center-rear of the hatch. In my case the old tinting needs to be removed and then redone...

    Noise

;stupid Same here with my 6-speed. Sounds like a blender on low for a second or 2.

    Greenish/Brown Sludge...

I purchased my '98 in June '2002 with about 26,000 miles on it. I had my coolant replaced this past May at the dealership with DexCool, but recently noticed a greenish/brown sludge in the resevoir. I replaced the resevoir (since it couldn't be cleaned) and thought everything was fine. A few...

    -Fog light upgrade-

I've used them for a season without any problems. You can check on the Corvette Forum for many detailed discussions regarding this application.

    -Fog light upgrade-

Max, You get to them from the top. Open your hood and flip your lights to the open position. It might be a little tight, but you should be able to get you hand down to the fog light. I think you turn the bulb 1/4 turn to the left to remove it. DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULBS WITH YOUR FINGERS...

    -Fog light upgrade-

50W 885s An inexpensive upgrade would be to use 50W 885s (I think also by Sylvania). Believe it or not, they make a big difference.

    Seatbelt Retractor Problem

Good Point! You know, I never do pull it all the way out, but rather just pull across my waist and snap. It makes sense to "reset" the retractor. I'll give it a try the next time I drive my car. Thanks!

    Seatbelt Retractor Problem

I had the seatbelt recall performed on my '98 coupe about 2 months ago. I think the retractors were actually replaced. I soon noticed that they lock up on the slightest turn or curve. Since I haven't had my car very long, I can't tell if this is normal or not. I find it very anoying and...

C5 Coupe Inside Hatch Glass (Plastic) Problems

Thanks! Possibly so, maybe at the Budweiser show or the Heberts show. I've been a member of Spindle City Corvette Club out of Lowell, MA for over 3 years; first with my '94 and now with my '98. We're having our annual Harvest of Vettes show this coming Sunday (9/22) at the Chelmsford Elks...

C5 Coupe Inside Hatch Glass (Plastic) Problems

I took it to Executive Auto Glass in Stoneham, MA and they sub their tinting out to The Tint King in Billerica, MA. The price estimate was direct from The Tint King.

C5 Coupe Inside Hatch Glass (Plastic) Problems

Rob... I took my car to a good glass installer and was told that the inner hatch glass had been tinted. I didn't even realize it was since it is a lighter tint. The tinting was wearing and starting to de-laminate from the glass causing the smudgy, smeary mess. I will need to get the old tint...

    Some Dealerships Kill Me!!!

Rob: I agree, a letter to the BBB should be sufficient.

    Some Dealerships Kill Me!!!

Rob: You're absolutely right! I must have been out of my mind. What was I thinking??? I didn't realize that Woodworth actually had a decent service department until some club members told me afterwards. And your guess is correct... beware of Charlie Daher's Commonwealth Motors of Lawrence...

    Some Dealerships Kill Me!!!

Two weeks ago I took my car to a local dealership in Lawrence, MA for simple recall work. It ended up costing me $319 for minor maintenance/service along with a major hassle. They recommended that I have an emmissions maintenance, fuel injector cleaning, and my parking brake had to be fixed...

C5 Coupe Inside Hatch Glass (Plastic) Problems

Hello Everyone, This is my 1st post on this forum. I have been a member of the CorvetteForum for over 3 years now and just heard about the CAC at a cruise I was attending last night. The inside of the C5 coupe hatch glass appears to be a plastic coating that covers and protects the heating...
