My AC started doing this near the tail end of summer last year, so it wasn't too big a deal, but here we are coming back into summer soon, and I'd like to figure this out sooner than later.
About half the time, the AC works perfectly, as it is supposed to. No troubles.
The other half, it...
My 1994 LT1 M6 is beginning to show it's age I *think*.
Over the last couple of months, it's been registering low oil pressure *only* at idle, low enough for the *check gauges* light to come on. Yesterday I replaced the sending unit for the gauge, and no change. So, that was probably working...
Over the last month or so, the check gauges light on my '94 LT1 M6 illuminates infrequently. I've already done a search and didn't find anything that covered exactly what I was looking for.
I read through the FSM and didn't find much mention other than the light will illuminate when the oil...
Got my first Vette, an '86, when I was 24.
Got my second Vette, an '89, when I was 31.
I was on the hunt for a C5, but my best friend has a sweet '94 Torch Red LT-1 6-speed that he'll sell *only* to me. :D That's a good friend ! :L I've decided to take him up on it and should have it in...
Two C4s and a couple of years later, I've decided that I *really* miss not having a Corvette in the garage.
Even though I registered here quite some time ago, I'm ashamed that it took me this long to realize what I dunce I was for sellin' my last C4.
So, here I am, be gentle with me.
I'm...
I've been away from Corvettes for a few years. I'm currently shopping for a C5. I've previously had two C4s, but as they say, the bug never leaves you.
I recently made my way back to this board and came across this thread today. I've spent the last 4 hours reading every post to see the...
I'll toss this out since I didn't see it already. I had the same problem when I had my '86.
Turned out that the plate the switch mounts on for the rear hatch needed shimmed a few thou to push the plunger closer to the hatch a bit.
Might be worth a try.
Good luck
Tracy
There is a place here in Oklahoma City that's been repairing wheels for many years. I actually have my '89 wheels in to them right now having the curb checks from the previous owner repaired and the original finish redone.
Once I get them back, which I anticipate to be Wednesday, I'll post a...
OK dumb question time. My aux fan isn't coming on. I've swapped the relay with a known good relay, and it still isn't coming on. I've located the sender on the head with the green/white wire. Upon inspection though, I'm not sure how to remove the connector. I've tried pulling it, and...
Wow, what a difference !! Thanks for all the input gang !
I replaced the thermostat with a 180, flushed the radiator and installed a proper mix of antifreeze/water, and took the radiator out and cleaned out the garbage between it and the condenser.
As was mentioned earlier, I found just about...
My brother-in-law does paint and body for a living, and we will be painting mine in the spring. It's previous owners neglected it, as the paint is faded bad, and there's a tear in the front bumper cover. The carpet is also badly faded. The previous owner used some lesser quality carpet...
Ok gang, I've had a chance to further evaluate my heating woes. Here's what I know for sure.
The puller fan in front of the condenser doesn't come on. Even with the AC turned on, it doesn't work. I'll be checking the relay first. Does anybody know where the relay for that fan is located ...
My '86 never ran over 200 for the most part. I now have an '89 that I picked up a few weeks ago, and it runs at 235 ALL the time and works its way up from there. The oil temp runs around 235-240 also. I definitely don't like it.
I think my first order of business will be to take the radiator...
