1993 LT1. I have my engine(fan) belt off. I checked my idlers. The pulley that is not on the swing arm is very tight.
Parts store says I have to decide on the grooved pulley or the smooth one. original is grooved.
Anyone have any advice on this?
Two Opti- two different engines
I have water pump off. I have good access to opti.
The new cardone opti fires right up. Idles at 1800. Engine sounds good.
The timing is running 38 BTC at 1800rpm. I don't touch throttle because of timing.

I am starting to think the cam socket is messed up and will let the opti in at spots that are not right.
I would think timing should be around 15 at 1800rpm.

Engine fires right up. Sounds great. Idles very high. Responsive throttle.
Dash tach says 3000rpm. TunerPro says 1825. My inductive pickup tach says 1750.
I put a new TDC mark on crank pulley. Timing looks about 18 to 20 BTC at that RPM.

I got that all back together. I wanted to make sure running without O2 sensors were not my issue.
I left the nuts under the cross sections that goes to mount off. Those studs for mount did lift.
Motor stopped lifting... and whole car started to move. I stopped...
Started the job of new opti, new oil pump.
I got a new opti, a new oil pump ,a new oil pump drive, front gasket kit and a oil pan kit. I got a timing chain and gears also.
I got water pump off.
I decided to lift engine. That would help with crank pulley removal and would need done to do timing...

I got tunerpro to work. Tunerpro says timing is at 34 at 650 RPM.
I think I got the correct info files for a 93 corvette for tunerpro. That was an interesting adventure.

Simple fix
I put the motor cover on 180 off.
While it was still on car. I took out the 2 screws that hold motor cover,and rotated the cover.
I got the rubber gasket into place. I put the 2 screws back in... works properly now.
5 minute fix after I thought about it for a few days...
My pass side headlight would keep running a few seconds after it went up or down.
I ordered the bushing kit from the 8t8 seller.
Parts went in great. I reinstalled the headlight. The light moves and stops nice and solid like it should... Its backwards though.

I fired her up today. The timing jumped to 0 degrees at 650 RPM.
So its 15 after top center while cranking, and 0 at 650.
Seems 15 degrees off both times?
I would expect 0 cranking and 15 BTC after starting?
Guess I might as well drop oil pan and put new oil pump in...

Honeycomb in drivers side pre cat is broken loose. I broke honeycomb into pieces and dumped them.
I cant see into pass side pre cat yet. The pipe is longer. At least the drivers side was still in pre cat, and not in the muffler.

Great Idea... look into the tailpipe from the back. I can see a honeycomb piece blocking the tail pieces where the muffler ends and the tip splits.

FPR is leaking
I smelled fuel in vac line to FPR. I hooked up my brake bleed vac pump with the catch canister to FPR. I pumped it to 17 vac. After about 5 minutes... there was liquid gas in catch canister.

Fuel pressure holds
Fuel pressure holds at 45psi. The bump test I did I hooked fuel pressure gauge to rail. Brought pressure up to 45 with key. I then touched leads from battery to injector terminals. It took about one second for the pressure to drop to 35. I did this to all 8 injectors.
