After a series of alternator malfunctions on my highly modified - I only have the "no headlight option" still eneabled. I pulled the breaker on the panel and got a new one, only to find out "Acc" means "Power Windows".
When my dysfunctional alternator hit 19V the other day it popped the...
Wow. It's been awhile since I was here much - but I started getting my beastie going in November to December, in what's been a $7-8K three season most-of-car repair or upgrade, instead of a $1750 month long install-the-new-motor project.
One of the many things new to this edition of Burnham's...
*WOW! Do *NOT*, repeat *NOT* hit the spell check and agree to the download of the IE spell checker if you are working on a post! You lose the thing you are trying to spell check doing it! (This is a rewrite...)*
I need a replacement column for my modified '75. I would be happy with the shorter...
Hey again!
While I am getting replies to my wheel request..... :)
Planning on doing the tires/wheels, have the top put on I've waited forever until I scared myself silly I'd screw it up...:), swapping out a few of my digital gauge-o-rama so everything that isn't multicolored is red (& swap...
Hey all
I know this has been covered a billion times (not even sure if it shouldn't be on C3 Reg. Forum):
I finally re-engine my puppy this weekend and have the funds now to finish this project to a good medium stage - so, with the new OD and motor, I need better tires and the wheels to...
From the following symptoms, take a guess at what I find wrong tomorrow:
It didn't take long to find the weird scary mystery noises that were getting worse and worse in the engine - so bad I had it towed home from work to not damage anything worse.
Tomorrow I tear off the intake and the head...
With the overdrive now installed and having passed 160 a half dozen times and the back tires being worn anyhow, it's time to upgrade to some Z, W or Y rated numbers and these are sparce indeed on the anvil weight steel 15x8 ralleys on there now.
I've been looking for some "cheapy" 17 or 18"...
Wow.
This thing is so nifty I might have to just keep it here on the couch!!!
Well, if I get the heap back with its new head gasket manana, I'll drive it a bit then drop it off at the tranny shop and get ready for 170!!!
I can't believe all the stuff that came with it. I opted for the...
I have the complete fore and aft VBP suspension packages and the Gear Vendor is en route....
The last real slop in the handling (aside from the actual steering box and current lack of PS) is the 15" steel wheels with the V rated Michelin Pilots. I could use one or two new ones in the next 5K...
OK, in continuation of the thread I tried to start below :) I ordered the VBP rear dual mount spring. The salesman (not Robin or Gary) recommended the VPB218 shocks as he said they were specially designed for the fibersprings for them by KYB.
I was surprised at this and had intended to order...
Monday, before close of business, I intend to order one or the other of these from VBP.
I was on a short trip when the starboard rear spring hanger decided a 1/2" something less than Grade 8 bolt was not going to see a full thirty years of service. (It had a weird "5" on it and FIVE hash...
I just ordered a couple of more catalogs I had been missing.
What other big suppliers or special systems vendors for C3 vettes that offer a catalog am I still missing? I want stock in ALL of these!!! :)
Al Knoch (D/L from online)
Chicago Corvette (ordering now)
Corvette America
Corvette...
OK, I'm an idiot. I listened to the parts monkeys.
I think they went the wrong way on the heat of the RapidFires they gave me - anybody know the system on those?
Anybody have a general recommendation on plug selection and gap for a stock 350 SBC in a '75 auto with an aftermarket ignition...
ALRIIIIIGHTY MISTER! Your sick twisted example has RUINED me!!! I've gone WAY down the Rabbit Hole and bought one of those ATAS corrugated SS radiator hoses.
:J
NOW...how do I get the thing to stop leaking?
;shrug
I don't want to tighten that clamp any more...
I am thinking of taking...
OK, look, I know I have a fathead, but does it have to be a flathead on the front and back every time I hit a bump?
:hb
I've looked everywhere and the smallest stuff I can find is 1.5". Not to mention it's a good 0.75" thick! It does have to clear the ragtop part...) I looked at pipewarmer...
I was cruising over at CorvetteForum and happened to notice a nifty thing - Tom DeWitt is doing an open offer for radiators with or without the electric fans.
I think the radiators are $450 and the twin "SPAL" fans are $340.
Good timing! My radiator leaks like a seive!
They had another group...
Let's face it - the best place for speakers are NOT the kick panels.
I grabbed some really good sounding little ones for there, rated at 200W a piece (I believe) and some decent upgraded Pioneer 2 Way 4x6"'s rated at I think 160W for the top deck. I need to upgrade the little tweeter and 4"...
Only one more annoying question after this one - for at least a few days.... :)
Mine came with the "modern" looking aerodynamic specialty whatsit mirrors instead of "GOD'S OWN CHROME" ones....
The driver one even had a remote cable, sadly buried in the door and duct-taped... :cry
I have...
In the brief three weeks I've been here, I've found out:
C4 seats can be made to fit in a C3
a pair of 10" (maybe even 12"!) subwoofers can be made to fit without losing significant "trunk" space
12" 18" wheels can be made to fit in back with modest flares
Vintage Air works better than the...
