    rear wheel bearing

I noticed last week that while braking I was getting a scratching, metal on metal sound coming from the driver's side, rear. I assumed that the brakes where on the warning tabs. So I bought all new rotors and ceramix pads and installed them this morning. It didn't fix the problem. I swear the...

Head Lights won't stop trying to shut!

Gears are stripped. If you take the housing apart and rotate them 180 degrees that will fix the problem temporarily. There is brass replacement gear you can buy that will solve the problem permenantly.

DO OTHER CARS FOLLOW YOU ON THE HI-WAY ?

HA! Yea that is great when that happens... or the guy in the Civic with a 2 foot wing on the deck. What annoys the hell out of me on the Interstate is the morons who get beside me. I think I am one of the few folks in Florida that understand that you should be in the right hand lane unless you...

WTB: Driver's front quarter panel - any color!

www.corvetteshoponline.com No I am in no way affiliated with them other than a satisfied customer. They have piles of every part you could ever need for C5's. Used of course.

    R&R Driver Rear Axel

That is funny you reference a "GM axle boot kit" as my dealership denies the existence of such a thing and insists that the entire axle be replaced. Which is what I had another shop do for about 1/5 the price they wanted. This is my last GM. I love my car, but cannot deal with service (or lack...

    Idler pulley... ECHH..ECHHHH...ECH...ECHHHHH

And have fun with that AC belt... it always gives me a hard time. The tensioner pulley is easy to change, the idler pulley on the other hand I did not attempt.

    R&R Driver Rear Axel

I have a small cut in the boot on the driver side rear axel. I am confused about what will need to be replaced when I pull the axel out to replace it with a new one (just to get a new cv boot)? Do I need to worry about replacing any differential fluid? What about seals/o-rings? I read a lot...

Help: Rear axle grease on the inside RR rim and calipers.

Thanks for the info. Is there a special tool I would need to install the new band? How would I replace the grease that has already been flung from the seal? Just fill the boot back up or is there a fitting to pump the grease back in? My car is not where I can go look right at the moment...

Help: Rear axle grease on the inside RR rim and calipers.

Yea we sorta did that and it definitly looks like the grease came from the boot. But we stretched it out and could not find the source (meaning an obvious hole in the boot). very odd that the stain in the rim was not a complete 360 but rather isolated, which tells me this happened while the car...

Help: Rear axle grease on the inside RR rim and calipers.

Help: Rear axle grease on the inside LR (Driver side) rim and calipers. I took the LR tire off to attempt to change the fuel filter and found a big grease spot on the inside of the rim and found very thin lines of grease flung all over the wheel well. There were thin strands of grease on the...

    blinking lights

Yes, it is worse when the air pump kicks on while the car is still warming up. I put an optima redtop in mine 3 or 4 weeks ago and replaces all of the belts and it has gone away since. Hopefully it will not return. I think checking and cleaning the grounds would be a good idea regardless. I need...

    Techron Fuel Additive?

Once a month, preferably right before you take it out on the highway for a few hours at cruising speed.

    Ceramic Pads

I really don't notice any difference to be honest and I am on the brakes all the time as my car is a daily driver and every road between my house and my office looks like it has been carpet bombed, errr I mean is under construction. The pads I took off still had 1/2 of the pad material left, I...

    Ceramic Pads

They work just fine. I change the rotors with the pads too, they are cheap like $30 at autozone where I get the ceramic pads. I am changing the shocks this weekend and will be changing the rotors and pads while I am at it. I think I did the last change maybe 18 months ago and I drive the wheels...
