Your looking for some hidden HP? Not knowing your engine the only suggestion I would make is about your timing... I dont know what your lead is but some dont run enough and leave some stiill HP in the engine. You might try to increase it a little bit.. Timing cleams the engine right up as it...
I know or possibly realize that i`m the only one using a 4.56 gear on this forum. And this was strictly by choice as thats exactly the way I ordered it. Now heres what I do know, I can and do very frequently start out in 2 or maybe even 4 at times. Gentlemen your not going to hurt the engine...
I just saw this thread and might add if not already done is to place the old distributor in the hole and see what happens. If the same result, then it`s probably the manifold.
To have done this very easily is to pull the fan and pully off with a impact then start as others suggested by taking the 4 bolts out thereby splitting the cases. Now merely ease the front case from the back sliding up the rotor then just turn it to the clocking position you require. Straight...
Sounds like or appears that you may have a overheating problem and are listening to some bad information. Big block engines dont overheat. Most of the problems are from deviations from the OEM parts. For that matter this also really applies to small blocks too. Uncle GM has produced thousands of...
I thought by now this would go away. IN MOST INSTANCES YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE HEADER. That is unless you want to make a lot of work for your self or justify charging an enormous price to repair it. :L What does a luggage rack have to do with nose bumps? If you cant repair fiberglass you...
Fiberglass Race Cars
Why all the extra work? We dont hack anything. Just drilling a hole in fiberglass and perminately repairing it is a simple issue. We actually build and modify fiberglass race car bodies. Sometimes we have to nearly cut them in half because of wheelbase length, wheel well...
Close, but not exactly the only way. Correct as to what the problem comes from. Not really a bad job if your familiar with fiber glass. The header does NOT need to be removed in most cases, nor the headlights, brackets, ect. However the rivets must be removed and as merely grinding is not going...
As others have stated, a good choice is the R45S for most early SB Vettes. However in some situations the "S" sufix with it`s extended tip will hit the dome of higher compression engines 11-1+. Those Vettes in that or even higher compression range will be better off using the AC R45 with out the...
I was going to give an answer and then saw John`s post. Sir, all you have to do is read his post for the best suggestion to follow to try and cure your problem :upthumbs
No Flex,
Being the owner of a Vette that is almost completely original from day one and therefore never cobbled by a previous owner or owners as many on this and other forums could well be. There is no reason for the Vette to flex anywhere and mine dont nor is there any reason why it should...
If your looking for the stainless that goes around the cove I then believe you have a 61 and not a 62. Now however the 62 does have some vertical chrome strips on the fender at the front of the cove on each side near where the flags and FI emblems are located. These are chrome plated castings...
With a L72 or any other 11-1 engines you should still be able to use pump 92/93 without any additives unless your FI equiped. Aside from the fact that additives really dont work and will only increase your cost per gallon of fuel.
A 62 is all by itself as far as the coves. Depends on how bad the Vette is, a good glass man should be able to do the job unless your missing the large pieces.
Hello Ken,
Not necessarily so if there correct. My Duece is running before your hand is off the key and thats the way it always starts. Octane is not the fault either, it`s the temperature that the fuel boils from the spider under the doghouse. Heat had never affected it up until a couple of...
