The 2011 also has the Selective Magnetic Ride suspension option.

Grand Sport Someone's Getting a New Grand Sport

Grand Sport Great looking car! I hope it works out for you. I picked up mine a couple of weeks ago and can testify that it is worth every penny, so add a few in if necessary to close the deal.

    Upgraded Ignition System

OK. I hear your side of the equation, but I had been changing points and plugs in the Corvette for 20+ years and the engine would run great for a month and gradually go down hill the next 11 months until it was time for another tune up. I agree the module only triggers the field current to...

    Upgraded Ignition System

I put a Pertronix unit and high voltage coil on my '67 Corvette and saw a dramatic difference. Better idle, more power and quick starts. It has been on the car now for 8 years without any problems. I change plugs, cap & rotor every 3 years.

    Paint Without Stripping?

There are probably a lot more experts out there about paint than me, but my experience has been that the underlying paint continues to deteriorate and will affect the top coats over time. I painted my '67 in 1986 and put a high quality sealer over the old remaining paint on the entire car, but...

Cleaning Carbon Build-Up off Heads and Piston Tops.

Another trick you might used from time to time is spray some water into the carburetor throat while the engine is running (spray bottle, not garden hose). If you have ever taken an engine apart with a blown head gasket, it is easy to spot where the leak is because the cylinder leaking coolant...

    C2 - Holley 3810 Advice

The NAPA number for the fuel filter I use is 3003. It is 3/8" inlet and outlet to fit the hose and is the clear see through design. They also make the solid steel version; I just like to see what's going on inside my fuel system. If you cut the hose approximately half way between the frame &...

    C2 - Holley 3810 Advice

I had the same problem over the years with the Holley on my '67. Finally bought a new 3810 thinking that would solve the problem, but before long I was rebuilding the carb every 12 months to stop the leaking into the secondaries. I tried truing up mating surfaces, replacing metering blocks...

What happens if you install the wrong PVC valve?

The 66 & 67 PCV valves screwed into the filler neck and flowed backward from all other small block applications that followed after those years. If you put the wrong one in, the crankcase will build up pressure and your fuel mixture may be affected. If you are going to vent from the valve...

    total timing?

Sounds like the springs are a little stiff. If you go to lighter springs, you can bring the advance on earlier. Depending on camshaft you are using, you generally should have 36 - 38 degrees total advance by 2800 RPM.

    spark plugs

I always used AC sparks plugs in the past (44 or 45). They were always out performing anything else on the market. However, 7 years ago, I converted my '67's ignition system to a Pertronix and I installed a set of Autolite AP 85's - platinum tipped plugs. The Corvette is reliable as any new...

    C2 power window wiring

For what it is worth, mine is a March 67 car and the P/W wiring is plugged into the left bottom position above the word "power." I have had the car for 30 years, so I think it is pretty original.

    1966 Headlight dimmer switch

If your term "pass. lights" are headlights, then yes, the dimmer switch is bad. There are some cheap products on the market, so be sure to get a GM switch. Could also be a bad ground or dirty contact in the lighting circuit, but the switch is the usual cause and a cheap "easter egg."

    1967 Paint Help

Thanks for the tip. I went back to the shop this afternoon and looked again. It seems real close, so I will trust PPG that this is the right color. Paint on a stick and paint on a car are quite different. After six weeks of work, just wanted to be sure. Appreciate the feedback.

    1967 Paint Help

My Corvette is ready to paint and my choice is a base coat/clear coat Marina Blue (code 976AA). The modern paint systems only cross to lacquer and acrylic enamel. PPG gave my painter a color match, but when mixed, it looked possibly lighter blue; but paint in a can and paint on a car are two...

Tips or tricks related to C2 carpet remove/replace

The only thing I can add to the above is be very careful around the console. There is not a lot of room for error here. Before you make cuts where the carpet goes under the console, bolt the seats back in because the carpet and pad will be compressed and pull the carpet down away from the...

    1967 Headlight Buckets

Thanks for the tips. Some stress cracks in that area were repaired on mine and we are doing the final fitting to ensure all lines are correct. I will check Noland's book, but the '63 buckets were fiberglass and made with the pivots permanently installed, so my question really relates to a...

    1967 Headlight Buckets

I am close to painting my '67 coupe and need some help from the experts. From the assembly manual, it looks like the headlight buckets were assembled after painting. Is that correct in which case the pivots/screws should not be painted but left as bare aluminum parts?

Help installing C2 coupe side glass!

Glad everything worked for you. The one tip I was planning to pass on to you is to remove the one window channel retainer at the top of the back rail to make the job of installing and removing the rail much easier. There is really no need for that fastener there and it is very difficult to get...
