    Dead Auto Transmission...Options?

Well I finally have to deal with the Transmission. Today I lost 3rd, so I drove home in 2nd. Has been getting steadily worse over the last month and I have decided I cannot pinch this penny any more. What I would like to know is any first hand experience with the several options I have seen...

    Vacuum System Test Guide

I got about the same results with the GM Service Manual. I wish I was getting codes, I can do something with those. The connector you mention is suspect but I want to avoid blindly replacing parts. If it turns out to be inexpensive I may just start there anyway. Thanks for the response.

    Vacuum System Test Guide

I am looking for a step-by-step guide for checking the vacuum system on my 95 LT-1. I found a nice one for the LT-5 secondary vacuum system but it is not very relevant. I have come across some in a few manuals also, but I need one for the DIY/garage mechanic with limited budget and tools. I am...

    Chrome C5s on my C4?

I think the ZR-1 style polished or chromed (or black) would look better. But I am biased.

    Headlamp woes.

If the headlamp motor is still turning after they open or close then the bushings are going out. Replacing them is not too hard. I did not opt for the brass bushing when I replaced them so the fix was very cheap...

    Power Antenna, Repair or Replace?

I would replace it. It is a lot of work to get it in and out and worth having a new part in there when you are done.

    Pulling Codes on 94 LT1

Paperclip method for pulling codes. The 94 will have the OBDI computer but may have a 16 pin ODBII connector. (The connector is under the dash by your right knee). If so, take a small paperclip and short pin 5 and 12, counting the upper left as pin 1. Then turn the key to on but do not crank...

    Hard Starts Smell of Gas

I started having the same problem and finally stopped starting all together. If you are seeing the check engine light while it is cranking you may be getting some codes in history. Get the codes from the computer if possible. most common for this problem will be 16, 36 and 42. If no codes then...

Post a pic of your Wheels! (and point me in the right direction)

Maybe this picture of the 5-spokes on a similar car will help. 9"x17" all the way around. A steal at $100 for all four. http://www.monstercrash.com/corvette/clean95.jpg Sorry, link busted, will fix tonight. Link Fixed!!

    surge at idle

I think you are right here. I have the same issue and it seemed to have started when I replaced the battery. The ground cable to battery connector was corroded. Replaced it but I have not had a chance to check the other end yet. I bet it is the same.

    93 drivers side window problems

Mine has gone down this path too. I can hear the stop roaming freely at the bottom of the door. Mocking me... Taunting... Stop laughing at me!!!

Any Custom Door Panels? C4 Model

I am considering attempting this myself. Kicking around the idea of using fiberglass and creating a totaly new design. Do you have any pictures of your results you can post?

    94 Lt1 C4 5.7-- Help – Big Problem With Bogging Out – Sputtering – Jerking-

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that there is a hole in this vaccum 3 way valve? Mine has one and I can hear a constant hiss coming from it. When I cover the hole the hiss stops. If I remove the hose going into the manifold right by the valve the engine idle goes up. Normal?

95 Rough Idle at higher temp.

Looks like it was the Opti-Spark distributor. Replaced it and the waterpump and so far so good. Unfortunately in my zest to clean the timing cover I must have blown the gasket out. Nice oil leak going now. Oh well, no time to let the knuckles heal.

    For anyone that is interested...

Been thinking about the LED replacements. Now I know I will being replacing them as soon as I can get the thing back on the road. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

    Optispark install

Got It Thanks for your reply. Your success has got me motivated to move on. Look forward to beating the Texas heat. I just turned over the engine, I am pleased with the sound. The problem turned out to be the 4-pin PCM connector was not seating correctly in the distributor. WARNING TO ALL...

    Optispark install

Is it possible to start the engine without the water pump, belt and TB? I have the Opti and all the cables and wires installed, but will not start. Do I need something else installed?

    Optispark install

Replacing mine today too on my 95. Removed all the parts and cleaned it yesterday. Took the old Opti-Spark apart last night. Rusty build up on the points cannot be good.

95 Rough Idle at higher temp.

Took care of the cats this weekend and replaced the O2 sensors while I was there. The car keeps running better at peek operating temps but still has a rough idle and the magical 225 degree sputter and choke. Next is fuel pump\injectors and opti-spark I guess. sigh....
