I had to replace my tires last summer, tried to get the Goodyear D3's but kept getting told by various tire shops that they were on back order with no expected date for production. I ended up buying a set of Kuhmo ECSTA ASX's all around. They have been great tires, good ride and traction and...
I have had some heating/cooling issues with my LT4 and have found it not to be a simple fix like closing a valve. There is a part called a "programmer" that controls all the doors and related hardware that diverts the hot or cold air. It seems to be the culprit in issues like this. You can...
I need to replace the clutch in my '96 sometime soon as well. Similar symptoms to what you are having. I'm not comfortable putting the car up on jack stands/ramps and doing the job from a creeper. I have checked with a local dealer that is known as "the Corvette Place" in the state and their...
I did a Google search for QuiXX and the first hit was some reviews on Amazon. The product is touted as a scratch remover for your paint but it looks like you have found another use for it! It looks promising to all of us that have the acrylic tops on our C4s that look as bad as yours and mine...
Well, it FINNALY got nice enough in the Denver area to try the suggestion and take it out for a nice long drive today! Fun drive but the climate control still isn't operating right. So, next step is to start going through the massive shop manual to start troubleshooting!
Thanks for the suggestion!
I replaced the battery in my '96 LT4 this fall and it appears that the climate control system isn't working now. I can set it to "auto" with a temperature at 72 and the system doesn't react as it used to. It blows cold air rather then what I would normally expect (like some heat when it is 35...

I have wondered about this subject too but hadn't taken the time to research it. I have heard radio commercials for a couple of lighting options but I trust the folks here at CAC to give us the real scoop on what works or not.
Judging for NCRS is still 1953 thru 1993 although I would expect that to change in the next few years to add a few newer Vettes. Now is a good time to be thinking about what your car would need if you choose to go that route. Gathering up NOS parts now will be easier than a couple of years down...
Welcome to the CAC LT4 forum! I don't personally have answers for you but I know there are some very helpful people out there on LT4's. They have helped me with mine more than a couple of times.
My LT4 is pretty much a weekend worrior too but the weather has been so nice in Colorado I have been taking it to work a couple of times a week just as a nice diversion. Unfortunately the weather can't hold for the whole winter!
Welcome to CAC nada! I have only had my LT4 about a year now but I don't regret for a second paying a little more than what LT1's were going for. The ZF 6 speed is great too.
Thanks to boeingdriver too . . . my LT4 is arctic white with the red/black interior. I hadn't taken time to figure out...
I replaced the tires on my LT4 today. I had ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's in March but my tire dealer told me they were on backorder. Long story short, Goodyear kept moving out the production date and I needed to look for options as the old BF Goodrich tires on my car were worn to a...
Thanks Rob! I was feeling a little left out as an LT4 owner. There are a lot of "us" lurking out in the forums and hopefully this new prefix will help us stay together as an important part of CAC.
I went to my local Chevrolet dealer today to pick up transission fluid GM P/N 1052931 for my '96 LT4. I gave them that part number and they gave me bottles of "Syncromesh Transmission Fliud" pat number 12345349 and told me this is the new replacement part. I haven't been able to confirm on the...
I am feeling the same pain her in Denver. My '96 has been "resting" on my lift since mid November. The weather was nice enough last week that I lowered her down an gave her some exercise last Sunday. Dang that felt good! I also took the opportunity to give my wife's BMW Z4 a little exercise the...
Thanks for the replies everyone. Some good suggestions! My LT4 looks very clean from the top side, but it needs some help from the bottom side . . . I think it's just going to take a lot of 15 minutes here, 30 minutes there to get it anywhere as clean as what you guys have!
