    LT4 WTB: Black 90/91 ZR1, 96 LT1 or 96 LT4 coupe...

...not necessarily in that order. Looking to replace my wrecked 96 LT1. Mileage should be around 40-60K, 8/10 on body, interior and no mechanical issues. Black, (as well as Charcoal Metallic or Dark Red Metallic if a ZR) is my preference but red will suffice. If it's an LT1, a 3.07 rear end, por...

    My totaled 96 LT1 blk/blk w/80K For Sale - $3500

I don't have the time, place or tools to rebuild it or part it out so it has to be all or none. And the insurance company is giving me a week to take it or leave it. Unless you've done this before and know how to arrange for shipping, it's probably best if it's a local sale. Car can be inspected...

Question regarding "thick" vs. regular rear gears

Are the aftermarket "thick" 3.54/3.73 gears that are used in 2 series Dana 36 any stronger or weaker than the 3.54/3.73 gears that would be used in a 3 series one? I've got 3.07s now and am thinking of picking up another diff to have rebuilt with 3.54s in advance. Should I look for a used 3...

Flow numbers on late year LT1 cats?

Does anyone have any idea what the flow numbers are on the later LT1 catalytic converters are? They'ce got a different GM part number than those for the earlier LT1s. I've heard that the later cats flow pretty well so before I spend the money on the low restriction variety (Random Tech, Car...

Anyone have any experience with Powermax mufflers?

I was reading an article I came across a while ago called LT1 Powerplay ( http://www.corvettemagazine.com/1999/oct99/lt1/ltp1.asp ) and in the buildup, they use Powermax mufflers. They're manufactured be Random Technologies which I know has a good reputation for low restriction cats. However...

For those interested: Dyno results for stock 96 LT1

Just an FYI for anyone who might be curious: 96 LT1 auto, 61K, stock - at the wheels 253.69 max HP, 281.48 max torque. The printout was a little on the primative side but it looked like the HP peaked around 5200rpm and the TQ around 4200 RPM. If my math is correct this would mean 317/352 at the...

Do I have a problem with my front cornering lights?

My Vette (96 LT1) was in for steering column rebuild and when I got it back the front cornering lights (the long white lights on the front side) don't come on with the light switch in the "parking light" or headlamp position. In fact, the only time either of them do come on is if the light...

Need Vette Mechanic in Ft. Lauderdale FL area for pre-sale inspection

Does anyone know of a competent Vette mechanic in the Ft Lauderdale, FL area who can take a look at a 96 LT-1 before I pull the trigger. Car is currently up for auction which ends this Saturday night, so this obviously would have to be done before that. I'm certainly NOT looking for a freebie...

    WTB: Black 96, preferably LT-4

My personal eleven year Corvette drought is about to end. I'm in the market for a black 96 and I'm serious about it. I'm looking for one in very good to excellent shape with under 60,000 miles on the odometer. I've seen a few listed on various forums in the $15K-$19K range and that works for me...
