I am thinking of moving to a C5 but I have to sell my current ride first. 1994 Bright Aqua coupe, 63,000 miles, both tops, FX3, Automatic, Bose Gold w/CD, dual power sprt seats. Car had had the following less than 1,000 miles ago:
Optispark
Waterpump
Plugs and Wires
Serpentine Belt
New Firestone...
My 94 coupe did the same thing, it would only happen when it was hot. Idle would surge between 700 & 1300 RPM. I had my optispark replaced and the problem has not resurfaced. I hope that is not the problem with yours, if it is I would highly advise replacing the plug wires and water pump at the...
New opti, water pump, wires, plugs, thermostat, belt, hoses and oil change with Mobil 1, along with a new set of SZ-50 tires. Now it is raining and I can't go out and play. :mad

I just left my mechanic, my waterpump was leaking and the optispark bearings were shot. It took a good bit of force to even turn the little disc inside of it. Tomorrow I should be riding again, I hope this one lasts for a while.

Well, I talked with my mechanic today and he told me it was the optispark. I am having it replaced along with new plug wires and a new waterpump. After buying new tires yesterday I hope I am through spending money for a while.
:Steer Now I am ready to ride. :CAC

btbm2, thanks for the steps on replacing the weatherstripping. I just replaced it on my rear hatch, about 30 minutes start to finish. I was lucky, I had very little mess to clean up from the old one. I suppose there is an advantage to keeping one garaged. :BOW
Thanks for the feedback, I have ordered a set and will have them installed next thursday. I read the reviews at tirerack, that is what made me consider them. I sure hope they are quieter than the GSC Goodyears currently on the car, it feels and sounds like a 4x4.
